Problem is he has nothing extra to offer except being in GEP.
Other than that he has a WL from RI which I'm not sure whether can be used to appeal since his score is quite far off.
To make matter worse, we will be away from 14 to 18 Dec.

At this stage anything goes. Juz put in appeal for RI too. Given his WL, they may take a second look. Plus, his GEP status may help. Of course you know the number of kids appealing including GEPpers who want to transfer from HCI and ACSI etc would be very long list there. But at least you tried

Firstly Ms Tay - congrats to your son. He can now get into his dream school.

Ngbrdad - Your son has great results - and I have been told by an ex colleague that her son chose ACS(I) over RI and he is really enjoying himself there. I have yet to find out why - will let you know once I do.

All other parents congrats on fabulous results.

My son has come up with totally unexpectedly good results. We are suddenly faced with the happy problem of considering schools that were not even on our radar screen earlier.

Would anybody have any ideas on preference between SJI and VS? COP-wise he would qualify for both. We live in Hougang - neither school is close by.

Any definitely advantage of one over the other?

Let both child A and child B get the same score 250+3. Will their chances of getting into sch A be different if child A put sch A as his first choice but child B only put sch A as his third choice?

My understanding is dat, everything else being equal,
if there is one vacancy left in sch A, child A will be given d place since dat is his/her first choice, yes?

but if the decimals are also equal, .... i would think the name or the candidate's number will come in next. this is fr the viewpoint of a IT person and the assumption that the allocation is done by the computer.

Just making some wild guesses.

Need some advice and guidance…


My DD has 249(HMT+1). She is from St Nicks and is very keen to go into IP which unfortunately is not timely offered by St Nicks. We are considering Cedar IP as 1st choice which has COP 248. St Nicks (COP 249) as 2nd choice. Considering that Cedar has just started the IP and might see higher volume of applicants from the 250 & above range which may result in their COP being pushed higher than 248. Can anyone share how’s her chance like?

We are concerned if she does not get into Cedar IP, her chances at St Nicks would be compromised - affliation no longer applies (due to 2nd choice) and their COP may rise (especially it appears that this year has quite a huge no. of 250 above scorers).

DS was on RI waiting list and we were so happy for him when he received his results tdy. He was posted to RI his dream sch. I guess DSA WL was a gd wake up call for him.Anyway shld give him credit for putting in all e hard work towards the last three mths b4 PSLE.

Hi there.

I’m a P6 student from MGS. I got my results today and I scored 252. I was wondering if I could get any advice on which school I should go. Should I go to Cedar Girl’s for IP in Sec 1 leading to A levels or should I just stay in MGS (affiliated : 220) and wait for the IP in Sec 3 leading to IBDP? And any advice for the other 4 options?
