      ASLMUM:
Just wondering during the S1 posting excercise, can we still opt for NUSH?

      Thanks
NUSH does not participate in S1 posting exercise. You need to appeal to the school leh. šŸ˜„

I'm very certain that's how the selection process works. Check the S1 Posting book that was given to all P6 students on how the posting exercise works. It very clearly describes that all students are ranked and the ones who are ranked higher get priority over students who are ranked lower. I also attended a talk by MOE who gave details on how the selection exercise works.
        MummySTay:

Hi Way2GO, you can refer to the sec sch admission guide. How the selection process works is stated very clearly on the 1st page; just behind the cover page. There is a sentence in bold which reads \"It is still merit before choice.\" Hope that helps to clarify any doubts. šŸ˜„
Thx jtoh n MummyStay for ur inputs.
I got one more yr to get dis right.
DS not taking PSLE dis year so no SS adm guide to refer to.

        MandyMummy:

Ya, all students in S1 posting exercise are ranked to the 6th (or so) decimal places. Then they are allocated according to their choices indicated based on availabilty and COP. šŸ˜„
Do u mean 'according to their choices' in order or ur view is in alignment with what jtoh n MummyStay posted?

              Mummy Bee:

Sorry Helping Hand, didnt know that you are the child. You think the COP will still be the same even when the school becomes a SAP sch?

70% will go up because it is quite easy to get there to many people who lived there. Gotta go to Nan Chiau Open house since missed first one. šŸ™

I think so too, sure go up. To me it is best because of the location.

Firefly reporting.. late.. (again)! Have been trying to log on to KSP yesterday afternoon but just couldn't get access to it! Finally, managed to browse through & read the posts (not all pages, though) past midnight, but still couldn't log in to post comments. Tried again this morning and.. Bingo!!!

Congratulations to Funx3, Leanne, Tinkerbelle, MummyStay, Ms Tay (especially) & all KSP parents, whose children have done well in their PSLE! Wonder how vlim, Brenda, Panda Pen, Lang Mum & a few others are doing?

My DS got 26X, 4 A Stars, with Merit in Higher Chinese.. Not bad for a child with no tuition, except for English, which started only in P6! DS wil be joining RI next year (DSA). Hope to 'meet' Ms Tay, Leanne, vlim , Paddy Field, at RI (thread) next year! Cheers!!!
                :congrats:

Does ur DD intend to take 3rd language ? My DS is interested in Japanese should I encourage him ? I m quite worried that he wont be able to manage

Hahaha...your question is just like the one I asked in the RGPS thread. DD was also interested in Japanese, but she now has second thoughts. Scared she cannot cope.

DD is also interested in taking up 3rd language - French, but we are also having second thoughts......dunno if she can cope with the workload. šŸ˜“[/quote]Give it a shot if the hv d opportunity n interest.
No worries about coping in d first year.
                  They can always drop it if they cannot cope in later years;
d dropout rate is quite high.
However, if they do well n d interest is sustained,
d 3rd lang is an option for A levels.
                  No harm trying.
Knowing an extra lang can only be a plus. :celebrate:

For 3rd language must decide by deadline for S1 posting is it ?

If DS opt for ACSI, heard that can drop one of the 2 compulsory CCA after a while if taking 3rd language and proves that there is time conflict.
If so I think he will rather take a 3rd language than 2 CCA.
