      cooking pig:
My gals also got 260 for PSLE & Merit for Higher Chinese, now wondering if if too risky to put 1st choice RGS 2nd choice Nanyang. My 3rd choice not sure should I put Dunman high or Cedar girls..please help me! thanks!

Though Nanyang might stand a better chance because of HMT, there is no harm in trying for RGS. You might want to consider distance and her interests as well, whether she prefers a more English/Chinese environment and where she wants to go.

There's no risk involved. If your dd doesn't get RGS, she'll be considered for her 2nd choice NYGH. Go ahead and put RGS followed by NYGH. As for your third choice, DHS and Cedar are very different schools. First off, DHS is a SAP school with an established IP programme, including an SBGE programme. Cedar is new to IP.

Thanks jtoh. I am not sure how well can Cedar start with their 1st year to start for IP class.

How about NJC, is there intake date already closed? As compare NJC & DHS which will be the better school? thanks!

NJC takes part in the S1 Central Posting Exercise too, so you can go ahead and put NJC as one of your choices. NJC and DHS are quite a distance apart. You might want to consider travelling time to these two schools. There are quite a few NJC and DHS experts on the forum. Why don't you read up their respective threads in the secondary school parents networking forum and pose your questions there? The parents would be able to help you better.

the mark can’t qualify for zhong hua (cut off 230), prebysterian high (229) and kuo chuang presbyterian (225, but this school has no band list which means the o level result is xxxxx)

              this is my suggest options
amk sec (cut off 226, its a band 5 school)
compassavale sec (cut off 214, its a band 7 school)
holy innocent (cut off 218, its a band 8 school, but affiliation to CJC)
chij st joseph convent (cut off 226, its a band 8 school, but affiliation CJC)
pei hwa (cut off 200, no band list which means O level result not too good)

My DD score 222 for her PSLE, we stay in Hougang, I have a few choices in mind but what it the best to rank them :

                    1. Holy Innocent High
                    2. Compassvale Sec
                    3. Ang Mo Kio Sec
                    4. Pei Hwa Sec
                    5. Zhong Hua Sec
                    6. CHIJ St Joseph Convent
                    7. Presbyterian High
                    8. Kuo Chuan Presbyterian

Anyone have any suggestion? Thanks, I am really in a lost

You can try for Bowen, I was told that it is a good school - COP is 222.

Also - one of my friend's son is in Compassvale and she likes the school a lot.

I would suggest putting Bowen as first choice. Mayflower Secondary, Compassvale and Holy Innocents
