2011 PSLE Result : Appeal to MOE to review the Test Result
-

And my son's classmate got 230+ for those same results. Such a variation, huh?My friend daughter get 3A1B - 220.
My brother son get 3A1B - 215
Depends very much on which subject is the B and whether its a high A or low A. -
Mamo:
My friend called moe and said that we can request for papers to be reviewed. Need to apply through school. Fill in a form and pay $48.15 per paper. Need to submit by 2 Dec. Better that you call your school to check on the deadline.
Is it $48.15 per paper or per subject?
What about MT, so many papers to check?
What if after checking and end up lower marks, your t score will be adjusted lower? :faint: -

Did the parents get a refund of the $48 paid for checking? Shouldn't be paying for the mistake of MOE right? In fact they should compensate for inconveniencehsm:
just wondering if anyone has done this before and managed to update the new score (assume there's really marking error)..
Ds friend got an addition of 10 points after getting her science paper rechecked. That was last year.

LOLMum:
What if turn out mark is lower?
for peace of mind, go ahead and have it check again. dont think it is worse to pursue unless the $50 per subject is a burden.northpoint:
We are considering to appeal to MOE to review the Test Paper. I was told MOE will not share the Test Paper, instead only provide a statement that the Test result is reconfirmed by 3 teachers. The appeal free is $50 per subject and so far the feedback I gotten from my friends are negative, unlikely to get anything out of it. Just wonder to know anyone have that experience and even have success story ? Is it worse to pursue ?
Thanks,
Alice Lee

it is 50/50.
either
or :faint: :faint: .
if afraid of lower marks, then have to bear with the uncertainty forever. cant have it both way.
happened to me when i was younger. but decided against checking and got to drop the \"what if\" feelings. -

:yikes: 10 points for psle t-score or 10 points for the subject?
10 aggregate points. Initially it was 233, after rechecking, her aggregate went up to 243.junrahmat:

If Iβm not mistaken, when you submit the form for the papers to be checked, the subject/form teachers will also need to write a statement/recommendation or something as to why they feel that the student deserve a better grade. Eg: If the student is a consistent high A student and got a B for psle, then there has to be an explanation as to why the student did not perform this time round, and especially so if she did well for the other 3 subjects.
Correct me if Iβm wrong, but I think students who fall sick during psle are also eligible for special consideration. -
No refund, but I think they don't mind paying $48 for an extra 10 points
. For me,I don't mind paying $96 if I can get an extra 20 points!
Personally, I don't feel there's an error in the marking. The papers would have to go through 2 different markers and checked again by the person in charge. Most of the time, the person who does the recording of the marks would also kay-poh and question the marker's marking.Could be that when they review, they are more lenient, or they also take into consideration the girl's prelim and other school results (I think the school would need to submit them). Based on that, then they adjust accordingly. But that's just my opinion. :scratchhead:
