      SAHM Chew:

Any ds or dd learn higher chinese in P2? my ds is going to learn higher chinese in P3, but he did not learn it in P2, therefore, I am quite worried that he is not able to cope. We do not speak mandarin at home.

My boy learned higher chinese in P2 as well as P3 next year. He can go to higher chinese next year, I believe he can cope.

      Hi Star89,

Do you know what are the difference in higher chinese vs normal chinese?

And although the students will take the same exams paper, but would the teachers expect the students from higher chinese class to converse better in Oral as well as writing better in composition?

      Thanks

        Hi

The kids will get to learn higher level of chinese but taking the same test/exam as those taking normal chinese. As they get to learn more, they should be able to score better in test/exam. The yardstick is the same regardless if the students are taking higher chinese or normal chinese.

They may also need to memorize those 听写in sentence, depending on their MT teacher if she/he wants to stretch them further.

The text book is the same except that for Higher chinese, it has additional 深广section.

I think 3F is better than 3E, based on my observation and what i have gathered. Not sure about 3D as i do not know any one who is going to that class. But i believe that there may be another round of swopping after p3 SA2. Which chinese class is your son in p2? And what are all his avg marks for all the subjects?

My son joined Taekwondo since he is in p1. The reason is that he has more time to learn / gain more from the CCA, vs if he start joining at P3.
