Hi all, my DS scored 252+2 for this psle. Can he get into VS's IP?

Don't think so. His +2 will not be taken into consideration as it is for SAP school only. Anyway, he can get into VS first and try to get in IP during year 3. He has to work very hard though cos only a small percentage made it - about 40 out of 360 for his level.

What do u all think abt the COP for VS 's IP?

kakilang:

Hi rylee,

Thanks for the reply.
So, typically how much did VS collect for school fee since there is a range for autonomous school?
The max will be 5+8+8+18 is it? Any other miscellaneous fees?

Hi kakilang,

Think your calculation is right. My ds1 also from autonomous school, but as school fee thru' Giro, has not looked at the actual amount.

Regards.

Coddington:

Hi \"MU123\", great!

Me since 1981. You?
Have you visited Old Trafford?I was there in 2004.Fantastic place!

There were many Liverpool's supporters at my times in VS,
they always jeered us. It was the Liverpool's golden decade during 80s.
90s-till now, we finally stand up with unbeatable records....etc.

i am much younger :imcool:

RaikouAura:

May I know when is the bookshop open during the school holidays? (date/time)

Hi RaikouAura, have you gone there yet? I'm aware that sales have started for the sec 2s to sec 4s on the 2nd storey.

rylee:

Appreciate that. Think have to think twice about the 3rd language. Will call the book shop to check on the uniform purchase.

Thanks.

Hi Rylee, if I'm not wrong, I don't think other shops sell them. It's better to get them from the school because several items are required, such as badge, tie, socks, PE attire, uniform, house vest etc. So it's less confusing if you get them from school.

CandyHeart:

Dear victorians,

How do u cope with HML in VS? With tuition or teachers' help is suffice?

My DS's command of English is only so so, how much help from the teachers are we looking at?

For those who have to take more than an hour to school, how do you manage your time?

Hi CandyHeart, regarding English, the teachers are generally quite good. If your DS has any questions, I'm sure the teachers will be able to answer them. The standard of english in VS is good.

Coddington:

Hi,
You will never regret going to VS!!

Hi Coddington, very true.

Mami_needsabreak:

My DS is very excited and looking forward to be a Victorian next year!

Hi Mami_needsabreak, that's good to hear! I hope he gets his choice!

stressedoutmummy:

Hi, my son has decided that he would like to be in VS (and i hope he gets in). Is there any prep he could do during this 'free time' rather than surfing the net or play games? Any book on history / geog / lit that this mummy can buy in advance at popular book store. Thanks in advance.

Hi stressedoutmummy, perhaps the textbooks? I think he'll do fine though even without the early prep. He could work on his fitness for the sec 1 orientation camp - there's a 2.4km run during the camp!

If anyone who has any questions, feel free to PM me or ask me here. Unless things have changed drastically in the last 4-5 years, I should be able to answer your queries.

[Coddington]

Not to worry so much abt the books, shirts…etc… thingys.

You DS will carry the VS spirits
and automatically knows what to do after he gets in…

Most importantly, make friends & live in happily.

Saw the notice being put up in VS last week. 10 sec 1 classes next year, of which 4 is for IP.
