- How long are the recesses? and
- Is there a break in between classes? I’ve heard that a few schools had classes for 45min, then a break of 15min.

hi sall, I thought your DD should have already bought Y2 HMT textbooks in Y1? Some Y2 chapters are taught in Y1, that is the case for my son.

Yup, dd bought Y2 HMT text book 2 weeks after school reopened in Jan last year and teacher started covering some chapters soon after that.

fewer places left for central posting as more DSA postings this year + good A level results. have a feeling COP may go up.

your DS may still get in but do be mentally prepared that he may just miss out. you can always make an appeal should he not make it. chances should be high as his score is sure close to the COP.

Just estimate it this way.


1. Last year DSA was 60. This year is 92. That is an increase of 32.
2. Last year top 10% was 249, this year is 250.

RV median score is usually 257. COP was 253 last year. Between 253-257, there are 170 students (400 minus 60 dsa, left 340, median of 340 is 170). there are approximately 32 students in each points (estimate) from 253-257.

Reducing the 32 place for DSA is sufficient to increase RV’s COP this year by 1 point. This is assuming RV popularity is similar to last year. If RV gains in popularity among students with higher than t score than 257, then the COP may be higher than 254.
