Understand that Bintan accepts S$. So is it absolutely not necessary to exchange Rupiah?

Also, what else to do in Bintan besides pool, sea, and sand?

Anyone stay at Angsana Bintan before? Is it nice?

i have stayed there a couple of times. unless you are comparing with banyan tree else this is not bad. service wise not bad and given that it is tied up with banyan tree you can ask them to arrange transport for you to go banyan for dinning or spa and charge to your room.

Recent reviews on Bintan Agro Resort - - doesn't sound good at all ...

                  http://www.tripadvisor.com.sg/Hotel_Review-g297718-d737445-Reviews-Bintan_Agro_Beach_Resort-Bintan_Riau_Archipelago_Riau_Islands_Province_Sumatra.html

Sigh - - never never book last min trips without any prior research.

I will let you folks know how it went. Hopefully it's a nice surprise given my very low expectations now. Keeping fingers crossed ...

Based on tripadvisor reviews, Bintan Lagoon is super expensive and staff are not service-minded.
