Any reviews for Bintan Agro Beach Resort or Bintan Cabana Stay? What to do there? How long is ferry trip - choppy or not? Scared of sea-sick.

I was tempted at first, then I went to the http://www.agrobeach.com/location.html and saw this:

Location
The island of Bintan is about 40 Km from Singapore.
The travel time to Tanjung Pinang is about 1 hour 45 minutes by ferry.
Bintan Agro Beach Resort is situated on the South-Eastern coast
of Bintan and is 45 minutes away from Sri Bintan Pura Ferry Terminal

Plus the traveling time from home to Tanah Merah terminal, that's close to 3 hours!!! :yikes:

So I have now made a booking at Nirwana instead.

yup - I dont have high expectations. hopefully it's enjoyable. the thought of choppy rides and > 1-2 hrs ride, i already feel like puking at least it's a ferry huh ? <whew>.

Understand that Bintan accepts S$. So is it absolutely not necessary to exchange Rupiah?


Also, what else to do in Bintan besides pool, sea, and sand?

depend where you stay some charge US$ so can bring US$ if you have any

for me bintan is for SPA ... else it is pool sea sand and eat nothing else for me

i have stayed there a couple of times. unless you are comparing with banyan tree else this is not bad. service wise not bad and given that it is tied up with banyan tree you can ask them to arrange transport for you to go banyan for dinning or spa and charge to your room.

Sigh - - never never book last min trips without any prior research.

I will let you folks know how it went. Hopefully it's a nice surprise given my very low expectations now. Keeping fingers crossed ...
