Now thinking
1)should I go for Qifa since I am the ex student there.
2)Do PV at Nan Hua since MIL within 2km
3)Do PV at BPPS since mum within 1km.
Please give me your advise. -
When are you registering?
You will not have this headache if you were not selected for PV at either schools.
So go ahead and submit the PV application forms first. -
Hi yes I think Straits Times is good to find out results.
Btw I want to ask all you parents out there of my opinion:
I am Indian (not Tamil but 1 of the minorty Indian race and we don't speak Tamil) and my son will be entering P1 in 2014. We will be moving to Marine Drive next year.
I am confused :boogie: :nailbite: if I should put my son in Tao Nan or Tanjong Katong Primary(he has been learning Chinese since Nursery and I want him to learn Chinese in P1).
Is Tao Nan too Chinese based emphasis..yes, I want him to learn Chinese but I heard that you need to learn higher Chinese, there is Chinese poetry, Chinese pop quizzes every week.. is that true?
Should he not do well in Chinese..i.e. his marks is low for Chinese...will that pull down his overall grade in other subjects?
In that case, should I just put him in Tanjong Katong where emphasis is all round development such as character development and academic?
Very confuseed :? ..any advice very helpful -
Hi qms
Then how is places for phase 2B computed?
I notice in some school, for phase 2B, APP: 120%, TUR: 86%.
What does it mean? taking the example below, how do i derive the available places for phase 2c?
Total places: 300
Phase 1: 132 places taken up
Phase 2A: 77 places taken up
remaining is: 91
If Phase 2b : APP: 120%, TUR: 86%, what is the available places for phase 2c?qms:
Total # of places available at start of registration = 300snowbee88:
Hi qms, what does it mean by APP 46% in phase 2A?
Phase 1 - TUR = 44% = 44% x 300 = 132 places taken up
At the end of Phase 1, only 168 (300 - 132) places are available.
Phase 2A - APP = 46% => 46% x 168 = 77 places taken up
Hence, at the end of P2A, 209 places were taken up. Therefore, TUR = 209 / 300 = 70%. -
sunset_dae:
At end of phase 2A, balanced places are splitted 50:50 between phase 2B and 2C. Any balanced places from 2B will also go into 2C.Hi qms
Then how is places for phase 2B computed?
I notice in some school, for phase 2B, APP: 120%, TUR: 86%.

If Phase 2b : APP: 120%, TUR: 86%, what is the available places for phase 2c?
Thus there can be situation when there are more applicants than places during 2B (ie APP > 100%, and thus balloting take place) and yet TUR is no 100% and there are places for 2C. -
Happy New Year!
Anyone recall what is the balloting situation for Kuo Chuan last year for 2012's P1 intake for P2C?
TIA.
