Hi everyone, does anyone know in specific what are the criteria for RJC band’s DSA? I would like to try my luck next year and I have also heard that there is an audition piece that students have to prepare for the DSA. I would like to confirm this, any information is welcomed!

Words from RI:
"You should be able to demonstrate interest and talent in one of the performing arts beyond the abilities of your peers. You must have a history of accomplished performance in this area at the national or international level." -
Words from RI:
"You should be able to demonstrate interest and talent in the Science or Mathematical Olympiads or in science research beyond the abilities of your peers. Have a history of accomplished performance in Science/Maths Olympiad or Science Research at the national or international arena."
So yes, they do not specify the criteria of selection, ie having gold or whatever achievement. -

Hi twilight, thanks again for your reply! I've read that up earlier but i remember there were more details to it shown by the RI web during the DSA period this year, but still, thanks a lot for your help!Words from RI:

Lol there’s no point in studying ahead, most of the textbooks available is rather indirect (they have lots of info that you don’t actually need). You might as well join JC tuition first.

I have 4 points for my o level (6-2) as I did not take HMT.
Would I have any chance to enter RI through the JAE. Or would I have to appeal?
My results are:
English - A1
Math - A1
A Math - A1
Biology - A1
Physics - A1
Chemistry - A1
Combined Humanities - A1
Geography - A1
Chinese - A2
Does anyone have any experience appealing? What does it include?
Any help would be much appreciated.
P.S. Would you choose VJC or NJC? -

You definately hve to appeal. Get a letter from yr previous school and submit it together with all other supporting documents which u think RI may be interested. It would be helpful if u are frm schs such as CHS, St. Nicks, Cedar, SJI, Crescent, SCGS n other top ranked schs.I have 4 points for my o level (6-2) as I did not take HMT.

As for VJ and NJ, best to go by distance. Distance is a crutial factor at senior high due to late dismissal.
Ultimately it depends alot on yrself to ace yr A-levels rather than which jc you are posted to as all three are very good!
