Er, for the purpose of school, you don't want to be TOO creative. Cos apparently, so-called unrealistic writing gets out of point very easily, can be heavily marked down wor, esp at upper primary level.

I feel that MOE sometimes too much, want kids to be creative but cannot be unrealistic. Many of today's inventions would not have happened if the inventors followed the expectations of society.

But of course, as the child grows older will guide that must write what the markers want to read

I have to guide DD1 on creative writing. She's imaginative, can see that when she role-plays. But she's weak in English becos we speak Mandarin at home. DH is not changing this policy becos he feels that English can be picked up faster. So I ask her questions to guide her for creative writing. I'm ok with that. I have 6 more months to help her to progress. πŸ˜‰
At least her Mandarin is gd.. u noe wat.. ytd i asked for only 10mins for DS to speak to me in Mandarin.. n the first i got was.. 'Let's Go' and when i asked it in mandarin.. he said.. 去,去,去 :stupid: :slapshead:

                    Baking Mum:

Juz went to chk out the P1 thread. think DD1 is well prepared for nxt yr. Juz discuss w DH, heartach to kn that DD1 will face tremendous stress vy soon. But no choice, we must prepare her so that she knows this is growing up process.

Started training her to wake up by 7 3mths ago. Now waking up at 6.30 liao.
St Nic must learn εΌŸεθ§„, her CC taught liao, so mummy no nd to teach n mummy also 不会 🀷 .
Trained her to read ST articles beginning of the year, so now can write proper comp.
Read n tell/listening comp started half yr ago.
HYPY done by sch, only 4 K2 so teacher finished the basic in march n rest of the yr enhancement.
Sorry but must say this, math is the only subject to score 100/100, so am vy  whn DD1 made careless mistakes. Fundamental basic is important, so for math I spent lots of time w her.
So now, juz let her enjoys the last few weeks of childhood... :imcool:

                    :faint: more stress... :nailbite:

                    :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

see from reading this post, I feel like I did nothing liao :rotflmao:

ST articles are good becos the introduction, body and conclusion are very clear. But DD1 is still weak in English, so will do what I can la.

                    Must :salute: Baking Mum πŸ˜„

Psssst.......childhood does not end with the start of primary 1. πŸ˜„

DD1 also prefers maths which I'm very :yikes: becos I vomit blood helping her in that. But she told me she loves maths, so I must vomit more blood :faint: :rotflmao:

I on the other hate maths.

:hi5: I hate maths too.. Luckily the enrichment classes can help to strengthen his maths.[/quote]I love maths  so we have a balance here in this thread πŸ•Ί
