KTKLN for indo maid?
-
carebear:
Yes! Also the sgd I gave her just before she left was forced change at a much lower rate...MMM:
My maid did it in Jakarta and had to pay S$100 more....so it is actually important they bring extra $...
OMG :yikes: !
You mean S$100 in addition to the 300 000 rupiah?
That's a rip off, more than 25% of their salary.
Besides carrying extra cash, it is also important to remind her to make the card asap cos she might not have enough cash later during her home leave.
Just before she entered the restricted area, I gave her $100 just in case.
Also I did not want to give it to her earlier for the fear that she might spend it. -
Finally, today is the day!
Called up airline office 1 hour before plane landing, if maid boarded flight and the staff said yes.
Few minutes later, she called and said the system only showed that my maid checked in (which I did for her before she left) but has not boarded the flight.
I got worried and said plane landing in 1 hour, how come she has not boarded plane, and staff said she did not know why!
So worried, called maid's mother hand phone, which was longer in use! The day before I just called her on the same line to confirm her return.
Went to the airport with a heavy heart, plane landed 20 minutes earlier than expected, and there was my maid waiting for me!
She said she had no problems passing through the immigration at Yogjakata.
She told me that 2 year KTKLN = 600 000 rupiah, 3 year KTKLN = 800 000 rupiah. -
Carebear,
What a relief! Glad your helper is home! -
Hi yeo88 and MMM have your maids returned yet?

Chan:
My maid actually have KTKLN but is going to expire 16th December this year. If we need to renew the card, do we have to go through the same procedure as applying a new one ?
I intend to go to Batam with my maid. Are they open on saturday? Cause do not want to take a workday leave lah.
As my maid will only go for homeleave next year December 2012, can I ask her to extend next year instead (although the card will expire for a year already by then)?

According to my maid, there is no issue for u to return to Indo even her KTKLN expired. She can make a new one when she return for home leave. Hence, no need to purposely make a trip to batam to make the card.
My maid with me for 6 years and she dont have the card. She just came back from her home leave. The process is fast if you have all the documents ready. -
MMM:
I saw that but frankly, I feel that it is not clear as what it merely did was to state the passport renewal process and forms as well as $35. However under the work agreement portion, they mentioned that agreement charges are free of charge. So it assumes that only those renewal of passport will need the new agreement. However for folks who do not need to renew passport but need a new agreement due to the KTKLN, what can we do.... :? I also recall that the agreement is something that can be produced on the spot.carebear:
Unfortunately it is not very clear and no home leave endorsement forms are in the website. Also my maid passport is still valid, really don't feel like going throughout the hassle :frustrated:
Go to indonesian website, click on services, then foreign worker, then working agreement.
All the necessary documents are stated there and form can be downloaded too.
I will try to call them (if anyone answers).
We renewed her passport in Dec 2010 and made the new agreement. But we did a new agreement in August this year because we shifted house for her to make her KTKLN card... My colleague also went to make the agreement for her maid even though she no need to renew passport because the previous agreement expired. Seems like each agreement is valid for 2 years only. -
POA Teacher:
I have thought of that possibility before.
Either she got ripped off, or she's lying to you.carebear:

Only 290,000 for 2 yrs.
However when I called up the office in Yogjarkarta, they quoted me 400 000 rupiah.
I know Batam is 290 000, but the return ferry fare per fax is $50 inclusive of fuel and tax. So if maid goes alone to Batam it will be almost the same as she gets it in her hometown. If you go to batam with her, you have to pay for your own ferry fare, and the time spent there- not worth it lah.
