I don teach chinese de... I just buy the books for her to do.. If she don know the words, then she will ask dh... Basically i don teach de... I just circle the pages for her to do.. If she don know then she will run out to ask... And depending on my mood and her ability.. Sometimes i give her hints... some times i give her the answer... For problem sums i will see wat method she use then sit down n show her other faster methods.... My strength ma...

I am going to pluck a question from the forum to ask the mummies n daddies here… Wat will u do if your child’s teacher call ur child stupid?

ask teacher - why call my child stupid in the first place ? tell her straight in the face that as an educator herself, she should not speak negatively in front of young children, to demoralise them. It is wrong of an educator to say such thing. Even if want to put across, must put across sensitively such that it’ll not erode the child’s confidence & self esteem.


is it bec child a bit slow to grasp / understand concepts, bec she teach too fast so my child can’t absorb or don’t catch what teacher trying to teach ?

watch out for body language of teacher. if this teacher show signs of impatience handling my child bec he is born slow, can’t be helped. Means this type of teacher has no patience, she can’t teach slow kids. Then seek transfer to another class, under a different teacher.

First words to DDs would be \" You are kidding me!\" next Talk to the teacher and ask what happened to result in using such a word. if it is enrichment, immediate removal. If it is CC, will talk to Principal.

On the side, report the teacher to MCYS , much it is a harsh thing to do. a Child's morale is delicate and uttering such words can have an impact.

If she finds my child is stupid, she can talk to me and tell me that she is lagging (definitely not say stupid in my face) and what needs to be done.
