Wow, sounds hectic. Studying really shouldnt be about rushing to complete assignments at the expense of mealtimes and resttime. Alas, Singapore is on the go go go - rat race. :siao:

But many other IP schools are this way, not just SOTA.

IP schools or IB schools? Anyway, that is my point. Studying in Singapore, regardless of IP, IB, mainstream is all very stressful. The children study alot, ace exams etc, are smart, but sadly in terms of courtesy, morals, filial piety, they dont do so well.

Oops, I think I sidetracked too much.

Hi Guys, am new to this blog !

My son is in Ngee Ann Primary and he will be P5 next year (2012). He is artistically inclined since young and is in the school Chinese Orchestra playing the Er Hu, and upon his own request, is learning piano now. He enjoys drawing and is quite good at drawing manga characters .... He wanted to go into SOTA and we need some advises from all here :-

            1) Can Chinese Musical instrument like Er Hu be allow for SOTA audition ?

            2) Are we allow to audition for both music and visual arts ?

Awaitng all your kind advise 😂

Yes, there are afew Er Hu students there.

              2) Are we allow to audition for both music and visual arts ?

Eh....this question is a little sticky. It is advisable for him to audit for areas he is best in. It is always good to go to their open symposium or open house and ask their student affairs dept for accurate answers. Sota's expectation of students during TA may change from time to time.

Awaitng all your kind advise 😂

                  Hi All,

My very 1st post here. My son has been on SOTA's WL... and luckily he received the CO letter when he took his PSLE result from his school. So dont have to \"sweat\" to choose which pri sch in the S1 posting exercise.

Didnt know about this forum earlier.. so happened to found this website when i searched more info on SOTA. 🙂 altho it would be helpful to me and him preparing during the TA last time (if i came across this forum earlier).

He is in Music (piano).. just went to SOTA for the registration on 22 Dec. Understand that this year there is only 184 students accepted, and in music there is only 26 students.

So looking forward to share more info with all parents here.

SOTA has opened the 2013 talent academy exercise. Just wondering is there any difference between the Mar and Jun TA other than the fact that there is more time to prepare for the June TA. Is it better to go for Mar since obviously, there is less people.
