      Hi vidhyalog

Your son has done really well and you have done your best too.....we are all nervous at interviews, don't we? Like in BlurBerry's case, I feel that your ds stands a good chance (Congrats BlurBerry :)).
We applied for my ds too, but not a squeak so far, but then again, we did not meet the 250 mark, so.........
Keep hoping.......we are still abt 3 weeks away from posting results, so there's still good chance for your ds.
All the best to your ds 🙂

Thanks Bbee. All the best to your son too.

Just want to share some buzz on SST at the N.E.mation! competition. It is a digital animation competition organised by Nexus for youths to express their thoughts on Total Defence (copied fm the school's Students Blog).

One of the SST teams (Dreamation) managed to get into the top 10. They are now in the last lap to produce their final animation clips for nationwide broadcast next year.

          You can follow them at
          http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Dreamation/262024467151978

I hope I got the link right. I'm new at this.

              Hi, anyone got in post-PSLE?

Checked with the school and was told no vacancy, because MOE does not allow DSA students to transfer out. So SST is one of the schools that heed the MOE’s directive?

                Hello Bbee,

So I was not the only one calling SST - 😂 they must be tired of repeating this.

I guess it is a matter of the entire circle - I am sure there are children who have accepted COs from SST who would like to try other schools if they had better results (especially if they are IP schools) - however, until those other schools accept them, SST will have no vacancies. So it really depends on whether the other schools break the rules. I think going by the fact that SST organised a post PSLE intake - it means that they will let these kids go (otherwise why organise the post PSLE intake) - but problem now is which school is going to blink first to disobey the MOE rule.

During the interview they did sound like there could be some chance of some changes - they said the situation is fluid. But today when I called - they said \"if there is rejection, we will let you know by 28 Dec\". Seems like they are thinking there is little likelihood of any movement.

This is like the DSA disappointment all over again. They wrote in their rejection letter to apply after PSLE - so we did. But I guess they did not foresee MOE clamping down so hard. But being an optimist - I am still holding out a tiny sliver of hope.

My son is posted to VS. We have decided we will wait till next Thurs to buy books and uniform. Thankfully both son and we like the idea of VS - so it does not seem like a second best choice. But since we have come this far - we might as well wait a bit.

No choice, it's our ds' dream school so we have to try over and over again, be patient and wait. Good that you got the interview, at least you have a better chance 😄
As for tomorrow, let's proceed as per normal and if SST should materialise (it will be a miracle for my case), it will be the biggest bonus ever!
All the best to both our ds 😄

                    Kid:
🕺 I went for the English and Physics lesson today . It was rather fun and indeed applied learning . I learnt the angle of deviation and refraction during the Physics lesson through experiments . During the English lessons , we were asked to arrange the sequence of the procedures and also asked to create a ringtone by following a set of procedures guided by the teacher and written by us and we were allowed to keep the procedure of creating a ringtone . I feel it would be easy to adapt to the environment there if you are a hands-on person . I heard some insider's news from the teacher too . He told us that the new campus would have 10 laboratories and they are going to build a JC just for us . At the end of the 4 years , half of the cohort would go to polytechnics while the other half would stay . After going for the lessons , I would definitely choose SST .

Hey Kid - sent you a PM. Thanks

Anyone can advise on how are the students placed in the classes in secondary one, is it by streaming(according to abilities)? How are the students tested for exams in secondary one?
