Er, I’m a gep student who got into ri and I’m eligible for gep promotion and fee subsidies but I don’t know if RI has enough places for ge students. I was not offered gep fees subsidy but instead got edusave entrance scholarship for independent schools(EESIS). What does this mean? Do I get into RI but am not in a gep class? I got 264.

All students who get in RI will take the same programme whether they are geppers or mainstreamers. Heard there are abt 7 classes for geppers and u should be in one of them. Reason to separate the Ge and mainstream pri students are to make sure the mainstream students r able to catch up with the pace..but ultimately they r studying the Same programme...
As for the eesis or gep subsidy fees .. I think if u granted eesis then u will not be granted the gep subsidy.. U may like to read the first few pgs of the green secondary schools selection book which stated the eligibility of the diff scholarship and funds ....

Anyone has any idea what time e bookstore at RI opens on reporting day? Do we get e PE uniform from e same bookstore? And where is e bookstore located? I m super blur

DD scored 247 , got in to nua hua ( 2nd choice), appealed to scgs before posting. Glad to know that the cut off point is lower and therefore she stands a better chance.
However as she now thinks that nan hua is too far and prefer bpgh (3 rd choice) . A classic example of how some children can be so fickle minded . Called bpgh , was told that if she appealed to bpgh and most likely she will be accepted and know by tmr then she cannot reject them and must take up their offer . That s why was hesitant to go to the school today. Thinking of should I wait for scgs which will will only let me know 1 or 2 weeks later or appealed to bpgh ?

Called scgs but they didn't want to give any commit answer. Though when I went before posting , someone looked at her past year result and said she stand a ggod chance and even ask for her name again so that she can look out for her . That wa when the cut off point was at 250.
The thing is that if I appealed to both sch and is accepted by either one ? In this case bpgh before scgs reply , do I have to accept already ? Can I still choose?
Dd prefer scgs to bpgh . It was a silly mistake . If we had chosen bpgh as 2 nd choice then no headache now .
That's a really tough decision. Does your dd prefer SCGS or BPGH? Have you called up SCGS to ask what her chances are?

Thanks so much for the swift response vlim, but I am still wondering why in the S1 IS Website it is reflected that I \"not been enrolled in the school-based special programme of an Independent School\", but I was told I have met BOTH GEP promotion and EESIS criteria in a MOE letter. I am confused, like you, i was told GEP students will be placed in gep classes to go thru the school based GE enrichment programme.

Hi paddi field. The bookstore is located at block B which is at their jc side. The selling of sec 1 books and uniform will be at the open area next to the book store. No idea what time they start to sell tomorrow, but we need to go somewhere near the yr1-4 admin block I suppose..for registration/ reporting .. Plus briefing ???

Thanks for e info, vlim. Do we need to bring anything for their reporting? Registration at high school side n purchases at JC side. Looks like I’ll be running mad tmrw. Wish I had seen your update earlier re purchasing today. Sigh!

[/quote]Err ... U have got in RI thru DSA?.., I think u don't have to bother about tt.., maybe tt is for those who go school base gifted prog in 'O' level track.,.., but u are now in RI integrated prog, so u get eesis instead of the gep subsidy ...
Emmmm.. Maybe other parents would like to add on or correct me ..? :roll:

U are welcome paddy .,, btw did u call the bookstore earlier to do reservation?.. With reservation u need not join the q .....
Some say bring primary school report book. I think student card is a must for identity..,, so to be ks,. I will bring student card, ds pri sch report bk and the green s1 option form.

no worry about purchasing books

just go for your registration first, then walk back to the JC side

they have enough stock for everyone

if anything out of stock, it is same for everyone.

last year the Bio text was only available from feb.....and they don;t need the text till much later

the teachers also know what books are not in yet (if any)

last year we went back another day (later) to get it
