That’s because they are immune to it? Just like the smell of a hospital. Visitor will notice the strong "dettol" smell but the staffs of the hospital won’t:)

As for that D&D empress saga. I was initially quite put-off by that picture. However, she was just being sporting to add-on to the fun of the D&D theme.
ex-SMRT staff on why SMRT breaks down...

The problem all started when the Sr staffs were retrenched, resigned, retired and asked to leave. When she took over how many senior staff with years of experience and trained by experts from Japan, England and Hong Kong that did not agreed with her was removed and replaced with young people with paper qualifications and have not the slightest idea of how to run a train system. There these young management staff tried to impress her by backstabbing each other, come out with hairbrain ideas or quick fix solutions that did not sound in the long run. Well guess what after 10 years of this type of sh.it from a well oiled and smooth running system she ran it to the ground. Mark my words as long as she is in the helm surrounded by her clueless dogs there will be no improvment.
That was the time I took a serious look at my retirement plan. Then came her waves of cost cutting measures, buying of cheap spares that looks good on paper but can't even last till the next round of preventive maintainance, reduce the manpower to all sections working at skeleton crew level. The last straw came when some of my junior staffs was not satisfied with the way they were graded and the amount they got compare to what their bosses got. They brough it up to the union and HR and they got the same reply \" The door is always open\". That was when I knew the sh.it has hit the ceiling and I took my earily retirment and joined my fellow former co-workers.
http://forum.channelnewsasia.com/showthread.php?29475-ex-SMRT-staff-on-why-SMRT-breaks-down

Can't fault her for just adding to d fun then.
However when d pix resurfaced in d light of recent incidents,
she was placed on d alter to be roasted.
d question dat needs to be asked is:
Who initiated dis move? 😉

Hmm… This is getting really serious. I pray and hope that they will rectify the issues before something more serious happens. They mentioned/reported that the delays were due to signal n communication problem. This is a serious concern! Imagine what wrong signal can do at a traffic junction!

Our compressors are made in japan (by Kawasaki Heavy Industries) or Germany (by Siemens)..

...one of my friend's photos (SPH in front of the bendy bus) was used for the edits and I'm not particularly happy about that... infact I'm quite pissed...

...just for your information (I dont know if this is counted as advertising or not), there's one potentially dangerous problem on the SMRT Trains that can result in disruptions if left unfixed, in fact there's a possibility that it might have caused Thursday's and Saturday's disruptions. It's called flatwheels, and it's caused by poor maintenance which causes the wheels to...er \"not be round\" (in layman terms), leading to vibrations which can dislodge the third rail. It's characterised by a dug-dug-dug sound coming from the undercarriage of the train (I've attached a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBOhP-tZqpw - the flatwheels can be heard as the second carriage passes), and there's a channel that you can actually report flatwheels, and other faults as well, which is unofficial, but good enough as they have direct contacts to the depot people and it usually gets fixed within 3 weeks 🙂 Just state the carriage number and the type of fault (flat wheels, light not working) etc..., send it to [email protected]

Forgive me if this is considered advertising.

Garment nowadays bor chap liow (sob…). Housing privatise, transport privatise, health care??? Housing prices now through the roof, cry heaven also got no answer (sob…sob…). MRT breakdown so scary…just when I resolve to start my year-end saving money by taking MRT to go to work instead of taking taxi after my maternity leave. Now I am SCARED to take the MRT! Mine is the North-South line leh! Shit, where is their BCP? Evacuation exercise - ever did before? Garment now doing an inquiry, not their fault now privatise, how convenient (wah…ah…ah…). Orchard Road Liat Tower flood again…I am really SCARED one day the MRT will flood too. I understand there is no walk-way in the tunnels for passengers to evacuate and walk to the next station - so how? After reading that a duty-free girl is running the MRT, my faith like dieded liow. Not an engineer running the MRT? Not even the garment, only goal is to churn out profit. Where did all the capable men go? Sembcorp run by a calendar girl, MRT by duty-free girl, Tamasick by ??? Sob…sob… sorry, I need some encouragement for the new year!
