Oh my gosh! I didn’t know this thread existed! I saw the Lejel advert on TV and was debating for weeks if i should get this!! And then a couple of days ago i saw one being sold at Giant for $60 something, i think. Didn’t pick it up as not sure if they are authentic and good. So is the one from Lejel authentic? It costs $108 though. I didn’t read past 35 pages cos i want to get one and can’t wait to ask!!!

The one sold by Lejel was the basic pan can get at GMarket at $62.90.
Giant selling this double sided pan also? Didn’t see any around in Giant so far, only saw those sold by the promoter at the market $108 for something similar to HCP or $228 for the bigger size one. -
Thanks just888! will check out GMarket. Yes, Giant was having them on one of their shelves last week. I opened up one of the box (which was already opened
as I was curious to see its size. It was red in colour but I didn't notice if the handle had a hole or not nor did i read the box. Shucks! -

I just bought my hcp and is experiment with it. I read that some forumers actually got their food burnt.can i ask do u cook with low, medium or high fire? I am using medium fire, but i find that i took a long time to cook my food. Last min cooking, therefore all food are from freezer. I am cooking 6 prata, 5 peng kueh and i took almost 1 hour. Slower if i am to use normal wok. Peng kueh are all placed in hcp at the same time. Prata is one by one. In the end, my peng kueh is not crispy. And the worst that i have cook. Can i use high fire with hcp?

For thin pancakes, it makes sense to cook with high fire or mid-high fire in my HPC because it is thin. For thick stuff like spatchcock chicken, I use mid because I don't want the skin to burn whilst the inside of the chicken is not cooked. See http://www.petunialee.blogspot.com/2011/12/happycall-roast-chicken.html
For cakes, I use Low only because it takes a while to get cakes to cook through, and for the air inside the HPC to reach and even temperature.
For veggies, I always use high but make sure I add 200ml water after the garlic turns brown and then I put in the veggies. The HPC cooks by steam and fry. Managing water content in the HPC is an important part of cooking successfully with it.
I am not a HPC seller but I love my 2 HPCs. I use them everyday because my kids love the food cooked with it - moist (because partially steamed) and crispy (because partially fried).
My only problem is that HPC does not work with induction. -
Hi chen, thanks for the info. Before getting my hcp, i have been steaming my veg n meat, therefore was thinking whether hcp can make the food more crispy. I need to experiment more before it become white elephant. Trying to cook some chicken later.

Just got mine (the brown one) from Korea. When I showed my maid, she said she saw this being sold at Novena recently. I guess it means Velocity. She said it was sold at $108 and red in colour and bigger than the one that I bought in Korea. I thought the jumbo size should be brown in colour? :?prancingpony:
