Since you are ready to offer a special price...if at the end there is really no taker...why not go to TKGS general office and make a donation..there are some pupils that may need financial help...can check with admin staff...you are doing a good deed for good karma...this gesture will go a long way to help a student.... :imanangel: ..Dear parents, my dd has just been accepted to Crescents Girls :rahrah:

Hi. My family and i have just moved nearby. I transferred my DD into this school and she has been accepted. Anyway, she is very keen on joining band next year (she will be sec 2). She will definitely put it as her first choice. However, she has no music experience whatsoever. She doesnβt know how to play any instruments, or read any music notes. Will she have a harder time than the rest? Will the band instructors be supportive of her learning or will they reprimand her if she cannot learn fast enough? Thanks in advance

Congrats to yr DD being accepted.
TKSS Band's training is very rigorous- 2-3 times per week.
It has a std as a CCA in this sch.
Approach the sch's CCA HOD to address yr concern ASAP. Send an email to him/her before sch reopens. know what's the criteria to join.
Btw, did yr DD hv to go thr' any admission test n interview before acceptance by TKSS?
Any reason for choosing this sch?
Tks for sharing. -

Thanks for the quick reply. My dd had watched all the band's syf performances and found them very enchanting, which is why she wishes to join them. She also hopes to learn more about being disciplined through the band's rigorous training and also train up her stamina. I will email the HOD of CCA asap. Thanks again.Proudtobemum98:

Around late october, tkss released the admission application form. It had to be filled in and handed in by the 5th of november to the school. Then, on 7th of november, i received an email informing me that my daughter had been shortlisted to sit for the entrance exam. Non-singaporeans had to pay $88 for the exams. On the 15th of nov, they conducted the english test (comprising of a comprehension and a composition) and the maths test. The next day, the science test was conducted. A few days later, i received a call to say that my dd had been accepted into the school.
The school's o level scores are very good. When we had gone there for the admission tests, the staff were very friendly and approachable. We found the school very modern-looking and it had all the basic facilities needed for learning. The school really focuses on an all-rounded education and often emphasises on learning to become better people in addition to all the academic studying. Also, when we had gone there to buy her school books, the students were very well-behaved but they were also having fun together at the same time, something which i find important since secondary school is supposedly the best 4 years of your life. I wouldn't want her to be too stressed and i wouldn't want her to dread going to school every day either. I mostly allowed my daughter to choose which school she wanted, and since she chose tkss, i allowed her to apply there. At their age, i find it best to allow them to make their own choices (though ofc not at their own expense) as in the event that they are not happy with their current situations, they have no one to blame but themselves and will learn from their mistakes. Ofc though, there was no reason to object to such a wonderful school. I would really recommend this school to others.
I hope this helped. Is your child planning to attend this school or something?
