Wow! 2000+ Books per year! :salute: :salute:IJJ:
She told me she had surpassed her reading target last year of 2000 books (fiction/non-fiction/chinese/english). She reads an avg of 5 hrs a day. Sometimes, I wish she spend more of her time on other stuff as well. Her deteriorating eye-sight is also great concern.
Enjoy your yummy BBQ gathering! I wish I can be there.
U Sure have a very Determined Self-Driven Little Lady there, IJJ
Agree with U on the Eye-sight issue ....
Do Take Care. Is She Wearing Specs at the Moment?
MY dd can read 12 books every week basically...so, 576+ books per year. -
FQW:
Wow 2,000 books!
IJJ, is that a typo? I'm quite sure my ds reads less than 10% of that per year.
Fun3x,
Told ds he'll be seeing a doggie and he was so excited. Please make sure you bring ok. Thanks.
Mark, 10% is good enuf..mine probably 1% last yr!
Funx3, my Ds loves doggies too! And so do I! He and daddy both wanted a big dog ..but no space, no time, and no Maid! Plus little dragon arriving ....scare of allergies just in case.. :xedfingers: -
FQW:
Maybe he is just more θ¦ε½ to have a mom like me rather than becos of my job.. It's just my character..
This part really sounds like something my son would do too. His water bottle is so big and yet sometimes he can say can't find it in his bag.
. Guess it's a boy's thing.
Oh yah, I almost forget that you're a school teacher. No wonder son so well trained. -

Yah! The main purpose is to meet each other and chat..hopefully forming a non official but strong parent support group within PH which sadly the sch dun seems to appreciate a good PTA group.. PTA can do a lot more than any sch can imagine for the benefit of the sch n kids.. They need to look into how to tap on PTA like the angmoh schs...
Food is not important, just come for chatting, gathering, knowing each other...It is BBQ purpose, right? :boogie:JoeeYee:
Mum4ever not coming due to prior appointment.
My kids' class ends at 7pm on Sat so can only reach around 7.30pm, but cannot think of any BBQ food to bring yet so have not reply.... any suggestion? -

Thanks for the salute. If you really know her, it is not surprising that she reads that number (not typo : 2000+) of books. A lot of times, I would rather she spends more time on other activities too.
Anyway something nice to share. In Nov, she was selected to rep her school for math computation and now she is into round 2 for out out of the state level. She is the only 5th grader. On English and Latin, she scored highest in the elementary level spelling bee and her teacher is asking our consent to send her as school rep. It has been Godβs grace upon us! -

Big dog some more... very big appetite. Seriously, keeping a dog is no joke, alot of responsibilities. Wonder how this super L-F mom (Funx3 or x4?) did it...3 kids with a dog. :faint: :faint:
