      SAHM2KIDS:
Last year P1 kids can join Malay dance, Chinese dance or band only. Not sure this year will be the same or not. You may check with the form teacher. πŸ™‚

I see. Will the school be sending us any letter to inform us on this? What CCAs and when are the start dates?

Also, if my DS joins the band, is he required to stay thru till P6? He wants to join the Robotics Club in P3.

Btw, which level is your child in? Really appreciate on all your advice.

Thinking of the joining the PSG, any comments?

Teacher will give out a form together with the time table for those who interested. My DD joined the Chinese dance last year but she quit after a few lesson so I think is not \"a must\" to stay thru till P6. My DD is P2 this year. πŸ™‚

As for PSG, I will join if I got time. My DS is K1 now, maybe wait until he is P1. πŸ™‚

I really hope more parents of JWPS would join this forum so that we can share and learn more about the school and most importantly we can help our kids. πŸ™‚

          Hi SAHM2KIDS,

Yeah, I do hope more parents of JWPS can join in to this forum.

I see, so shall wait for the form then.

Btw, my DD is also in K1 this year. Are you registering your DS to JWPS next year too? So far, how do you find the school. Well, I am quite happy with the school PSLE results, and I think they are improving over the years. Really hope they can do even better this year.

While viewing thru the photos of JWPS, realised there are prefects for P2 kids, aren’t they are too young? Are there prefects from P1 classes?

I also hope the school goes single-session next year, I prefer morning session, not so hot in the afternoon.

          Are you staying near school?

I am staying near to Frontier Primary School.

So far, I am happy with the school. The teachers are quite caring. My DD likes her teacher very much. She was a little disappointed when she gets to know her Math teacher changed this year. 😞

Yes. There are prefects for P2 kids. The prefects will help the P1 kids during recess. According to my DD, the prefect name list is not finalized yet so maybe next week then the prefects will be there to help.

I also prefer morning session πŸ™‚

Yes because distance is important to me but if Frontier is build a year earlier I will choose Frontier instead. Have tried to persuade DD for transfer to Frontier (if they open for other levels) but she disagree so my DS has to follow her. My consideration is purely on distance. πŸ™‚

Oh I see. Well, thot both schools are pretty close to each other.

To us (my spouse and myself), we both agree that we will only go for schools with proven track record. Though the distance to school is important, we still feel that a school with a history is "nice to have".

Frontier is nice with all the beautiful new facilities, but being a brand new school with no history and track record, we will not go for.

DS has somehow settled down now, and we are happy about this.

You have a point. As at now, transfer is unlikely because she is doing well in JWPS. I wouldn't want to interrupt her study also. πŸ™‚

I am so pleased that DD's form teacher take the initiative to update me her performance and behavior in school. πŸ™‚
