As your dd has moved on to Crescent Girls, monitor her progress in both the sciences and humanities. She needs to be strong in at least one of these two areas to perform well at A-levels.

At lower sec, its more important for her to build a strong foundation in both science and arts as this will hve a positive effect in her jc years. Subject combination for sec3 shld be more of aptitude and interest rather than versatility.

No to be too concerned about 0-levels as Crescent excels in it.

            Hi Brenda,

I thought you have been working all these years?
In any case, I wish you all the best for your new job...most importantly, your daughter must be happy and comfortable in her new school. Even though she didn't go to IP, she will still do well. Don't worry ok ? πŸ˜„

            Hi Janet

I left my job 3 years ago so as to spend more time with DD.

Now I start work again since PSLE was over and also Secondary School life will be very busy as there is at least two days the students needs to stay back until 6pm for CCA and some CCA can be three days too!

Let's hope that the school will prepare them well for the 'O' level in the next 4 years!

              Hi Edureach,

Thank you for your valuable advice.

              Information extracted from the handbook:
At Sec 1 and Sec 2, there is a core of 11 subjects; In addition, there are 3 non-examination subjects

For Sec 1 and 2 integrated Humanities Curriculum, there is no examination, only Portfolio and Performance Task Assessments.

We are happy with the school and I am impressed with their Innovative
Essay Marking Portal where essays are automatically marked and feedback given on the spot.

Seems like that they will have many opportunities to learn through 3D scenarios and hopefully all these will help them to build up the strong foundation.

Thanks for your trust in Crescents Girls School and we do hope that their students will be doing wonderful!

Girls mature earlier than boys...so your girl would definitely be matured by 16 to want to do well for her O levels.

Take care of yourself and pamper a little...you did a great job last year and also before that preparing her for PSLE.
