In my year, the OG =/= Sec 1 class. Perhaps the system has changed?

they already said at the start that OG is not Sec 1 class. So really waiting to see.

Hmm I found the workload for HCL very manageable so I do not think that the teachers give lots of homework. In sec 1, I feel that there is much more focus on EL/Lit than HCL itself since passing EL is a criteria for promotion to sec 2. But still, there will be sufficient guidance provided since those who do not perform up to minimal standards in HCL will be required to drop it.

          Hi

Pls advise what is the minimal standards a student has to achieve in HCL before he's asked to drop the subject.

If a student can't cope with HCL, can he drop it after Sec 1? I'm asking this because my DS didn't take HCL in his primary school, will it be difficult for him to cope?

Probably. Last year's max for non-affiliated was 261 and for affiliated was 254http://app.sis.moe.gov.sg/schinfo/SIS_Agg_History.asp?yr=2011&sid=7102&snm=CATHOLIC+HIGH+SCHOOL

The max score seems to be going down in the past few yrs.... in 2009 batch, the max score was 264(non-affiliated) and 266(affiliated)

Anyway, can see on this website later on in the year. I think MOE updates it by March or April these days.

llbros545 : how frequent is the training for NCC (air)? Need to train on Saturday?

Any idea how often is drama practice and can students achieve the 2 points from this CCA?

CandyHeart: Once a week on Fridays for NCC Air. Saturdays only for special training such as aero-modelling in Sec 2, etc.

I think that for pretty much all the main CCAs, it is fully possible to gain the 2 bonus points. Competitions for UGs and sports, SYFs for aesthetics, etc. This is of course, provided the student attends regularly, or else the points will be reduced to null.

I think on Monday when we are separated from our orientation groups into our classes, the teachers will give us the timetable at the same time, you can see what books to pack every day.
