School term has just started and some schools have orientation for their new sec 1 students. What is your opinion if such programme includes games like throwing darts at the crest/badge of their rival schools just for fun?

Personally, I find this really "bad taste’ and "poor spirit". Is that what you want to inculcate in the kids - pure rivalry?? Even in competition, must be graceful towards your competitors and rivals.

Just for curiosity, which sch is this now???

Usually orientation programes are for the purpose of create bonding among the classmates. It is also a good time to reveal the character of individuals so you know who can click with. Never heard of such programe you mention and it is very unhealthy. I witness, in competitions, losing team would cheer for wining team and via versus but i also witness losing team not cheering for wining team and just cry over together. The school culture is very important and such orientation programe can refect the school culture. Usually orientation programes are drafted by students commitee and approve by the school.

I wonder what is the purpose of doing so. Simply no basic respect and manners! What sort of education is this school providing?
Dont use the excuse of \"just for fun\"...

Heard this from a nephew yesterday, a top school. However, I have not been able to confirm with anyone from that school so better not mention name. I believe some parents might know. Hope the game is organised/limited to just that class and not the whole school, which I strongly believe to be so because no administrator/teacher will be so silly to approve it.

so it is just some silly activities done by some silly kids and not a silly PROGRAM by the school orientation

                        Schools these days.. hmmmmph..

And they make noise when the children supposedly don't have EQ. 🤷

 Mebbe the teacher for 'that' particular class wasn't accepted at the other top rival school, so perhaps it cud be a bit of his own ego that was busted?
