The AMEC (Advanced Maths Enrichment Club) will be conducted by Maths Aha! The fee is $180 for 12 2 hours lessons. I thought it should be free since it is considered CCA. :evil: Is it good?

Anyone from last year's batch ... care to comment?Following up on the Shanghai immersion programme.
I think the P4 students got their forms today and need to submit them in by 13 Jan 2012. 40 will be selected to go after an interview. This will include a home-stay as well.
My current thoughts ...
(a) P4 seems a little too young for them to venture out especially on a home-stay. Not sure if the home-stay will be a 1 NYPS student to 1 family. If so, my DS will freak out for sure.
(b) March temperature in Shanghai will be between 5-13 degrees? Too cold?
(c) Its a technology immersion programme - just what is covered, I am not too sure
Can any of the experienced mummies and daddies please advise and provide your own or your DS DD experiences?

if the child likes math, it will be worth it
it is slanted toward math olympiad, but is insufficient to be used solely in place of MO training -

Er.. I didnt see the AMEC thingy leh... I checked thru all his stuff daily.. Confirm never see it.. What is tat! Is it selected by teachers?
