      Hi mummies,

Need ur advise here... I will be going to Korea for holiday in apr, thinking of getting HCP there, may I know is it worth it to get it there compared to GMarket? Cos the price at Gmarket is 60plus, not much difference if buy direct from Korea? With discount, shld be abt 50plus fr GMarket which may not b worth if I lug 1 back from Korea? :?

If you buy from Lotte Mart in Korea, you dun run the risk of buying a fake. I paid SGD42 for Standard Red and SGD45 for Ocher.

Just broke in my 1st Happy Call pan.

I like that there was minimal splatter and fumes thus I do not smell so much like fish after cooking. But still find it a hassle to use and it is too heavy. I cannot flip it that easily with 1 hand. Time to build up those muscles.

Nice. For me i just manually flip my food most time. 😛
Me too like the part on not having oil splatter around.
I am wondering should I get rid of my toaster oven, clearing my countertop for more space since I am using HCP to toast my food these days.

              Hi Chenonceau,

Oh I see, :thankyou: guess I will buy it from there then... Lotte Mart is like our NTUC supermarket right? will need to research where are they located before i go...
Btw, do you know if the red standard is enuf for baking eg, pandan cake?

Since you’re going. Get both standard red and ocher deep lor… same trip what…

Ocher is better for cakes, unless you want very thin cakes. Lotte Mart is equivalent of NTUC. If one outlet dun have, then go another. Plenty outlets to choose from.

                  Hi All,

I placed and order for the Jumbo grill pan and currently im having doubts as im not sure if this pan can be use for baking at all, they’ve already ship out the goods so i don’t think i can change my order in Gmart.

I was attracted to this jumbo grill pan because of its low fat cooking but now im not sure if it can even do what the orcher pan can do because of the grills on one side of the pan…any one care to shade some light on this?

my logic was that it should still be able to bake cake/bread just that you’ll see grill patterns on 1 side of the cake surface that’s all…but after reading up on comments on the forum i don’t see anyone using the jumbo grill pan and i almost all the recipes posted are using the standard or deeper pans…so im starting to doubt my choice.

                  would appreciate some advise. thanks

Jumbo pan can do what other HCP can do too. It allows cooking a bigger portion of food. For my family of 3 adults shares just nice to cook - fried bee hoon and fried rice in a deeper size pan. So with more portion of food, bigger pan will be better. Over at the FB lotsa of ladies got the jumbo size pan as a 2nd pan after their basic pan.

I'm eagerly awaiting the delivery of my Ocher Deeper pan 🙂 but I have a question for you guys. I read that there's some leak test we could do with the pan? Can someone pls tell me what I need to do with it?

                      Thanks 😄

Haha...simple. Just add water into the pan then tilt from side to side. There is a hole on the back, opposite the handle, so make sure you don't tilt back. Otherwise, you'll be wondering why your pan leaks.
