sorry if I sound ignorant but I need to ask this. can just choose robotics as sole cca? sufficient to get points?

Looking at ds cca form, looks like must choose 1st cca fr sports aesthetics or uniform. Then 2nd cca choose fr others eg robotic.

See and ask at tomorrow's CCA fair.
Can parents go for the CCA exhibition before attending the PTM tomorrow?

llbros545: regarding NCC (air), yr 1, friday training, yr 2 fri + saturday training. what about yr 3 & 4?

Thanks for taking the time to answer the questions posted here!
Oh the Saturday trainings in Sec 2 are only for quite a short period of time. In Year 3 and 4, if the cadet is selected for competitions, there will be extra trainings too on just about any other day, such as aeromod or PDS. However, it is much lesser as students will be busier. And a point to note is that Wednesday is make-up training day and shooting day. So, if trainings cannot be conducted on Friday, it will be moved to Wednesday. In sec 1 and 2, cadets also have to go for shooting training at Safra periodically. Also, cadets might be required to go for courses such as Energy Conservation course or kayaking course spanning about 2-3 days long per course during holidays.

Any of you attended the PTM yesterday evening?

From the presentation, looks like the school has got very dedicated teachers.

The principal said that some of those that enter with psle t score of 240+ got 7 or 8 A1s during the O levels, whereas some with > 250 did so so only.

Looks like ds is in good hands. The rest will have to depend on ds himself.

Yep, as a student, I can safely say CHS has one of the most dedicated, experienced and prepared teachers in the non-IP scene, if not in Singapore.

The teachers go all out to assure you get an A in your Os. Morning remedials, recess remedials (for the weaker ones), after school remedials, weekend extra classes etc.

I'm not interested in those with 240+ . Nothing unusual about these students scoring well at O-levels actually. The newspaper had articles on students from neighbourhood schools who scored 211 and 204 scoring 7A1s too. I'd be more interested in what CHS will be able to *value-add* to students with those lower scores. Like 230+. Or even those below 230.

Was it 2 or 3 yrs ago when CHS had a bumper crop of 10A1s, there were a few boys who had 230+ at PSLE. Those were the days when CHS were taking in affiliated boys with 225 still.

Scared of what? Ghost stories? First, you'll all be attending Mass - get blessed already - still afraid of ghosts? 😜
