ausbee.. i feel very bad last week when he cried when i left him alone..but i thought about it.. my girl went thru this too.. she cried for one month.. cried until vomit that type.. but now, she is so happy to go to childcare cos her friends and teachers are like another family for her.. hope my boy will get used to the environment soon

oh i see. my girl will cry until she’s inside the classroom. once inside, i think she’s ok coz i dont hear her crying. as long as she doesnt see me, she’s ok.

i tot my girl likes sch also, sometimes i catch her singing to herself, although i don’t know what she’s singing. i think they just need time to adapt. just depends on how long.

Happy New Year!

I am Malaysian Chinese, stay at home mother of two girls. and I speak Mandarin to my daughters. My husband is English.

My second daughter (turning 2 in Feb) and I like to go to playgrounds or parks nearby our house (we are at Toh Yi/Toh Tuck/Bukit Batok area) during weekdays between 7ish am to 8ish am or 9ish am (She wakes up between 5ish to 6ish am and needs her nap at about 9ish am)

If you have children of my daughter’s age and he/she is an early riser too, would you like to meet up for a playdate?

We usually go to Toh Yi playground on Tuesday morning and Bukit Batok Nature Park on Wednesday or Friday morning.

Hi mummies, glad to share that my DS2 is finally walking at 16 months. Can't wait to bring him to show off his walking skills during Chinese New Year... Hee hee... :boogie:

Thought of putting him into a preschool to learn some social skills, but the 2 nearest my house admit toddler after 24 months... So needs some waiting.

To parents who have children having difficulty settling in a child care centre, do not be disheartened. Some parents wait it out... All my 4 kids have no such issues as they are quite ok in settings without me around. Since I've gone to work after my maternity leave, they have stayed over at my mum's and my MIL's place before. I always encourage my friends and relatives to carry them when we met as I don't want my kids to be 'stranger-shy'. During their crawling stage, I'll bring them to the playground downstairs to play crawling up the slide a few times a week. If we were lucky, we would get to meet some children their age. In church, we attend the main service and I will ask the nursery helpers to help me take care of my toddlers. Perhaps all these play a part to all my kids being very sociable and friendly. They could adapt well to child care. The feedback I get from the teachers are usually that they are so comfortable on the first day of school that they started walking around and taking out the toys to play as if it was their house, playing with the taps or busybodying in another class. These also gives me headaches.
It's just the end of the second week of the year and there's a long way for our kids to grow... Keep on keeping on! :rahrah:

are there any one whose kid is an extremely light napper and also needs to be aided (e.g. carried/ pat) to be lulled to sleep?
What can be done to get my son to nap on his own?

I gave her a baby napkin, she will bite for a while before she falls a sleep. I did the same with my elder boy, it works!

Congrats beauty79 that he is finally walking..

I am having big problem with DS, he sticks to me like super glue. I am a FTWM.. MIL and helper taking care of him in the day. When I reach home, I'll take over taking care of him, including weekends. He is fine with anyone, as long as any of us are around, but he'll not want to be carried. That includes all relatives and friends!

Sometimes, when I bring him out for play dates or meal dates, he'll cry out big time when I get out of his sight.. **faintz** big headache.. though my hearts are warmed.. heeehehe.. coz he loves me so much.. LOL

Cannot imagine sending him to PG in 5 months time.. what can I do to help both of us?
