I am looking forward to the sales of the DVD!

I dont tink they have the chance to watch the performance rite?
The only time i can think of is during the Sat afternoon rehearsel, where they possibly may have a chance to watch.
Watching the jie jies and her teacher perform will be truly inspiring for my little gal.

BTW, any idea how long was SOD establish? I only join early this year coz its near to my place.
i heard from a frn whos daughter is with crestar, pre-ballet.
She say her daughter no chance to perform. In fact, she also have no idea if they have any annual concert, so she is shock that even my 3 yr old get to perform on stage.

But to her, SOD is a "no name" dance school coz she never heard of SOD and we only has 2 outlet unlike her Crestar… ARGH…
So all the more i wanna show her how good the concert was.

        My favourite performances were
        The miracle
        The Hero…
        The queen of hearts
And the second last show, the one where the dancer has long messy hair, its abit ghostly but i think its v v well done…
        Bravo!!!
, the one in white with red heart on their head.

The School of Dance (TSOD) was started 2 years ago. Ms June Lee (Vice Principal of TSOD) was previously Head of Dance in Crestar. She was in Crestar for 22 years before joining TSOD. So TSOD is not a "no name" ballet school. TSOD has won numerous awards in the Asia Pacific CTSD dance competitions and I think they are faring much better than Crestar in terms of performance exposure for the dancers. As I understand, TSOD will try to have a concert once in 2 years or there will be year end workshops and CSTD summer school that the girls can sign up for to get some performance experience.

            Hi balletmum,

Thanks for the background for SOD.
No wonder ms June lee has the loudest applause during the concert.
How about the other lady koh huishi?
I notice that the dance performance under her were also quite impressive.

Oh the concert will not be a yearly event?
Year end workshop? Meaning intensive dancing course?

Currently my gal is in babygem, next year will she be moving up to preballet automatically or she has to be assess by the teacher before moving up?
As she is one of the lousiest in the group, I am worried that she will be "retained".

              Hi Crystalbelle08,

Ms Kok was formerly a student of June Lee and she was also a teacher at Crestar before joining TSOD. She is also a very dedicated teacher and also sends her students for dance competition.

As far as I know, all the girls will be promoted together with the class yearly. For pre-primary and primary levels, they will take an assessment just to let parents know how the girls are doing in the class. From Grade 1 onwards, the teacher will select students who are ready for grading (RAD exam). If your child is not ready for grading, the teacher will let you know but she will still be promoted to the next level.

As to the summer school and workshops, this will be like a one week dance course that teaches different genre of dance like jazz, contemporary and tap. At the end of the course, there will be a concert to showcase what they have learned.

Your girl is very young so there’s still lots of time for her to discover her dancing talent. Dancing is also a form of discipline which i think is very good for our girls.

                    Hi,

I am enrolling my girl into the pre-ballet class at the Macpherson class. She will be going for the trial class this week and she is v excited about it. The teacher is Mrs June Lee any feedback about her?

Could anyone advise me how much would the ballet costume cost? Wondering if it is possible to get any preloved ones as I want to watch my budget.
