Thanks. do you know who to hand it to ?[/quote]For my dd's class, the teacher requested them to hand in on 30 Jan so that it allows her time to vet thru their work before submitting them for the contest. There is a contest application form to be cut out from the contest outline. Your child might need to get a new copy from teacher. Just some important guidelines for the contest...
U mean Japan Airlines? Ds wrote 30 Jan as due date ..Stinkybomb:

vk2010, how come you were at school today? Or were the cars making the 3 point turn outside your house? :evil:for parents who are alighting the kids at gate C :
PLEASE do NOT make a 3-point turn after alighting your kids along Coronation Road
you are holding up the traffic big time !!!
please just go straight and make a loop to wherever is your next destination
this morning 3 cars almost crash into each other between gate B and gate C as all wanted to make 3 point turns, all from opposite directions, and all refuse to give way ....... utterly selfish and very unbecoming with kids learning all these selfish attitude from their parents ...... tsk tsk
and the traffic tailed back all the way to Victoria Park Road on one end -
Mvm:
Should highlight to the school and get them to put cones all the way. Everyday there are people trying to make 3 point turns there, and all refuse to give way and choke up the traffic there.
I support the proposal. It is really irritating to see them choking up especially when we are coming from the main road with the kids still in the car. -
DS just got the circular for a 10 day immersion trip to Taiwan for P5. I'm certainly very keen for him to go, as he really needs to polish up on his Chinese. However, I was shocked by the cost-$2300. :yikes:
Anyone knows why the cost is so high?? Where does the bulk of the cost go to? I mean, a normal 10 day adult fare by Chan Brothers isn't even anything close.
What was the costs like for previous immersion trips? -
My dd in P4 also received the circular for a Shanghai Immersion trip. The 7-days programme cost more than $1,600. The cost is inclusive of 2-day home stay. It is really expensive.
Does anyone know how many teachers will be going with the 40 kids? -

If 6 weeks, then $2000 / 42 = $48 per day
Compare that to $1600 / 7 = $229 per day! :yikes: -

Ya, it seems that the kids will be staying in the hotel and flying on China Eastern.

According to dd, there are more than 100 kids apply for the Shanghai Immersion programme and went for the interview last Wednesday. Just wondering when the result will come out ? -
They will be staying a 3 or 4 days in a China buddy’s house during the trip unlike the previous trips which they stay in hotels throughout the trip which I think is safer maybe for such young kids…
