hi cherrygal,
as you are keen in rgps, perhaps you may call up Ms Felicia Quek (Head of Parent Volunteers)?
you may contact her via school telephone: 6468-4377 or obtain her email directly from the school ?

currently they are looking for PVs take care of Character development programme (CDP). There are already existing activities involved, and you can participate. However if you are able to help contribute suggestions / ideas further to expand this area, that will be most welcome!

I know that SCGS got no PV lehThanks mummy of 3, jtoh. Yes, if I get to PV at either RGPS or SCGS, then guess I will just aim there and forget St Nicks. But can only sell after 3 yrs coz of high seller's stamp duty...
Supposing I get both properties, one definitely at St Nicks, then where should I buy the other property? 1km of RGPS or SCGS? Which is better?
U apply as PV in RGPS 1st. If selected then u start to buy property there under P2B and P2C and no need to buy near St Nick. If not selected, then one at St Nick and another u choose between RGPS or SCGS in P2C. -
dorisp:
SCGS does not take in PV volunteer for P1 registration unless you have something unique to offer to the school and they die die need yr expertise otherwise their existing PV (from existing gals) is already more than enough.
Between RGPS, SCGS and which property to buy, how about making the decision after your PV application is accepted. You will have a pleasant problem if you are accepted for PV in both schools but if only one of them accepts you, then the decision would be easy.cherrygal:

So staying within one 1km of scgs is the only way to get into school. -
merkon:
Thanks but don't I need to be within 1km of that school to have a higher chance to become a PV in the first place? I know St Nicks wants their PVs to stay within 1km even before applying as one. If I stay so far away now, RGPS or SCGS may not even consider me as a PV.
If i were you, I would try to apply pv at both schools and see which one I get accepted first before buying 2nd property... Plus you have time on your side to wait for property prices to stabilize ...cherrygal:

phtthp:
wow Phtthp, thanks for the info! but the info above seems more for parents whose kids are already in the school. As for Phase 2B PVs, I think it would be the school mgmt to select. And the admin will tell me I need to wait till 2013 for kids born in 2009. But I think with my training, I am able to contribute in that CDP area if the school mgmt allows.hi cherrygal,

hi tango12
If you want high chance, move 1km to CHIJ Primary (Toa Payoh). But they dun take in PVs so you can only try Phase 2C if you are not catholic or grassroots. Ai Tong and St Nicks very difficult even at Phase 2B, 1km. Try only if you have Plan B, C, D...
You have lots of time now so quickly move to Toa Payoh and join the RC in Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC. Then you can be guaranteed a place at Phase 2B, 1km. CHIJ Pri (TP) seldom ballots at this phase for 1km. -
