All About Life Without Maids

Hi, I have been living without maid for 2months & realised I've been nagging my teen girl to help me with vacuum & mopping floor. She did it willing for the first month but now I will do it because she will takes 3hr using Rainbow vacuum cleaner (which is heavy for her). I vacuum daily & mop floor on alternate day after work for my 3yrs old son & fat old dog.
Any recommendation on which is the best & economical robert vacuum cleaner for both dry & wet clean, preferred with easy maintenance & where can I buy it?
Thanks in advance.
Buy an iRobot Romba for dry vaccum and a Scooba for wet floor washing. It really cuts down the pain of maintaining the floors. Just mop the edges and corners once a week as the machines can't get 100% close. The machines are also easy to use. -
Hi fifiyeo,
How are your robots so far? Am thinking of getting them too but am worried that roomba can’t cope with long hair and dog fur. Also, seems that scooba has some issues with durability.
Thanks! -

Thanks for your recommendation but I read Scooba is not easy to maintain. Do you know where to buy & price for each machine? Thanks again. -

Rainbow is a pain to use but it is absolutely clean. Me as a mother don't like to use it on a daily basis because of the changing water, washing and attaching and detaching let alone on a teen. Now it is used by my part-time cleaner once a week.Hi, I have been living without maid for 2months & realised I've been nagging my teen girl to help me with vacuum & mopping floor. For daily, I use a hand held Electrolux cos it's alot cheaper than iRobots. It costs $189 at usual price but $149 during sale. The machine is on my 3rd yrs now and is still doing well (trick is, you must use it everyday to discharge the battery) Of course, there are maintenance but really minimum eg. clear the dust from the cavity and hair from under brush. Detach all detachables and wash it periodically. The filter can be bought at the main office for $5/- (I have not change mine after 3 yrs as it is still in good condition ).
You may want to consider this cheaper version. -

I usually prepare them in mid morning after coming home from market. I'll cook soup with thermal pot. 1 veg, usually plain (wash, soak) 1 meat dish either steam fish (marinate and wrapped and store in fridge), braised pork etc... put rice in cooker and set timer to ready at 5pm. All preparations will end at about 1230. When members return for dinner at 6, I'll start cooking/heating.
If one pot dish, easier...cook in mid morning eg. stew, casserole, braised. -

My Scooba is onto its 8th month soon. So far very good. Floor very clean after use. But do put in that 5-10 mins effort to rinse a few parts after use. I got an extra battery so I run my Scooba for 2 full tanks at each go every time I wash the floor. That's kinda of abusing it.
My Rhoomba is onto it 9th month. I bought the areovac bin for it which is good for fur and hair. I have a fluffy cat who leaves behind balls of fur every day and everywhere it goes. Picks up alot of dust everyday.
Really totally happy with these 2 electronic maids! :imanangel: -

So far I just rinse my schooba after every use. Just a 5-10 min job. Really easy I feel. Was told not to leave the dirty water in the tank overnight cos the dirt in the water will settle down inside.
Will PM you the site I got mine from.
