If your Gal is Serious about Ballet, Better not send her to CC. Agree that CC is More Recreational 😉 😉

Some CCs have very good dance schools and teachers. It depends on the CC you go to. SBA is good and gives the better girls an opportunity to perform with the SDT for some of their productions.
I agree. The one thta my girl is attending is good at yew tee CC
Hi, G Tan, may I know which teacher is your girl learning from, at Yew Tee Cc? & how long has your girl been learning from this teacher?
      Thanks in advance!!
Hi Jtoh, thanks a lot for your reassurance 🙂 I feel more relieved now 🙂

Hi, G Tan, thanks a lot for your info on ur girl's teacher..will try to call up/make a trip to check what classes are this teacher teaching 🙂 thanks!

Btw, Nafa replied to say that RAD exam is optional..if u opt to take RAD exam, they will prepare u, think they will hold the extra coaching class for exam 🙂

I think it’s RAD’s requirement that students who take exams must have x hours (I can’t remember what’s the number exactly) of dance training a week, which is why there’s coaching class.

Any parents here can give advice which schools in Singapore have ballet classes since P1? My girl is 5 and currently in Pre-primary level. She insists of going to a school with ballet.

Anyone in SBA to advice the program comapred to Nafa?

                  Hi all,

Like to check for preschool girls (3-5 yrs old) taking ballet, how often do you change the leotard and tutu size for them? My gals started lesson a year ago (3.5 yrs) and recently saying they want to cancel their ballet lessons, giving the reason that their costume too tight…(but leotard supposed to be tight right??) Not sure if it is an excuse…it’s becoming a tussle every week getting them to go for the lesson although when we check with the teacher, she says that they are doing fine in class…

Changing the costume is not exactly cheap(and we need to change 2 sets at the same time…) and worried that it may be just money down the drain…or just ‘grant’ their wish and stop the lessons…?

                      Sean wife,

Maybe you can try asking them if they enjoy the ballet class after the lesson. If they enjoy, they shld be able to tell you they liked it. My DD also says she doesn't want to go for class at times, but after the lesson, she'd say she enjoyed the session. I can also see that during the lesson, she's engaged by the lesson and is participating.

As for the leotard, is it so tight that it's uncomfortable to breathe in? If so, may really be too tight. Perhaps can ask the teacher or the dance school staff to help check if the leotard fitting is fine.

Are you able to view the class and observe how your DDs respond in class? If so, then you can be able to judge if they're enjoying the class?

                      Hope this helps! 🙂

You can check out the ballet school in Thomson Plaza.

                        Looks very professional.
