      auntieM:
My MIL's idea of filling up the house is calling her non-chinese 'friends'.. ..

At least five families with min two to three kids each.. ...We have to gather in one area to 'pau' more angpows... Really a funny sight.. πŸ˜‚
Haha, sounds like my MIL on CNY morning....nothing to do go knock on neighbour's (German) door, asking if my niece wanted to play with the boy.
Then both BIL and I had to scramble to \"pau\" more angpows...mine is long story coz morning all close relatives so bigger ones in small bag....(that's the gist). SIL did not even bring out any to MIL's house so BIL had to scramble and \"borrow\" new notes :siao: ...and then MIL had the gall to ask \"must give one ah, how much to give ah?\" 🀷

Same rubbish when Counsin introduced her fiance at annual CNY dinner...good thing DH thinks along the same line as me and we are prepared....so embarrassing! And what I don't understand is MIL came and asked loudly - to DH \"how much you give ah?\". Must say he really takes the cake \"yi si yi si loh, it's your xin yi wha!!!\"

Me thinks if we compile MIL stories for CNY, we can publish a book  and it'd make the best-seller list for sure!

The old lady told me to wish her daughter on the phone...I 'disappeared' bcos I see no reason why I should give her rude daughter any face. Who cares. If she is not happy, come and talk to me...I will tell her why.

I asked hubby if he advised them to cut down on smoking and drinking...he said he has given up doing so...nothing he can do if they are so old and too stubborn to listen. 🀷 since he is the favourite son and they refused to listen, no one can do anything.

MIL gave out ya shui money for all the kiddos after the reunion dinner. Then follow my SIL given out her ang pao, so i think it is also ok to give since just few hours apart.

Who knows after giving my BIL’s wife making such a loud noise that she is not preparing and y must give so early… I am kinda β€˜WTH, attention seeker. Afraid ppl talk behind her back’…

I've a one kind MIL who gives different amount of Ang Pao to my 2 boys these few years. This is not the first time, few years back, she gave the stupid reason for my elder one in secondary school, needs more money. Then last year, my younger one was in Sec 1 and again he got lesser than his brother. This year the same old thing happened. She gave my younger one $4/- lesser! I just wonder why must she upset my younger boy showing favourism so obviously. Worst, my silly hubby also think nothing wrong with that. :stupid: :slapshead:

I've heard of some old people who are like that. They feel that the younger ones will eat less or spend less, so get lesser amt compared to the eldest. :siao:

                    my BIL's wife

The most hated person in my list.
Followed by BIL, SILs, then PIL.

Will always remember BIL and BIL's wife's comments about DS1's PSLE results. I shall wait and see their DDs' PSLE results in 3 and 4 years' time.....

And SIL#1.. ? Sometimes I wonder why I need to see the colour of her face to determine whether I will enjoy that day's visit at my PIL's house......

hi! everyone here, i am back from my one week holiday liao.

really happy to go holiday and not see any of those evil ppl faces, SILS, PILS. We did not go for re dinner coz we left days before the festive begins. But my Dh today passed the angpow to his parents at their office though we did not go visiting them at their home coz PIls they all resume work liao. We know we are not welcome by that single SIL so why bother to visit and see her face. With this somehow end the festive liao. But PILs did not pass any angpow to my DD. So i told my Dh maybe next year dun need even to give PILs angpow liao since we had done our part. after so many rounds of fights, quarrel etc........this family has left nothing liao except hatred for each other all thanks to that always remain at home SIL. PIls are contented as long as their precious old princess is with them till they die. ha ha .....i used to care what they say if we din do the CNY visit, but i dun care now. :imcool:
