Time do really flies past so quickly! DD1 is doing well in school though i noticed her attitude is a little yaya:grphug: good morning, club 2005 friends
It's already February :yikes: time flies. How are all your P1 with school? Enjoying the \"longer\" hours? And get to buy own food during recess?
How about the Spelling & tingxie part? My DD2 has 10 HYPY words to learn and she is always trying to :siam: or give me the :snooze: look whenever I take out the list to revise with her
Yup, she is definitely enjoying the longers , keeps her mind occupied
. She is still bringing packed food from home and gets food from canteen for CCA day.
Nothing on Ting xie yet.... Spelling is 7 words a week... -
mummy of 3:
Woah!! 1.5 hours?? By school bus or? dd1 travel journey is 25 - 30 mins unless there's jam which will be ard 45 min to an hour..Ur DD2 is so cute when u revise with her. My DD1 will go to bed around 10pm as she say so tired. Told her to sleep longer but she can wake up at 9am... :slapshead:
I will revise the school work everyday with her (include spelling, currently no ting xie to learn) The teacher will say and they listen and write the ans. :scratchhead:
Ya, finally is Feb and we had survive as now i stay very far from the school. It took 1 and half hour to reach hm...
I :salute: you on revising everyday... I let dd1 do her homework and take a look after it is done. think my assessments are hitting a road block due to time constraint... :faint: -
Morning all. Just back from my morning walk.
DS was sobbing last night at bedtime. He has not been very enthusiastic about school. DH and I are kinda caught off guard as he never had much problems about going to childcare and he enjoys all the work even the spellings and tingxies he had in K1 & 2. We anticipated that he will be a not worried at the beginning but thought he will settle in but never imagined that he will be so sad. When we prompted him about what is it that he does not like about school, he is not able to elaborate. He kept saying it is just a feeling. Initial week or 2 he was bored as there was nothing much done. Now lessons are on going and he is coping well. No issues with this spelling and tingxie, school work and homework all ok. He is a well behaved boy so he has not been punished or scolded but he says he simply doesn't feel good in school.
The excuses not to go to school are starting to surface. On Monday, I received a call from his teacher telling me he was not feeling well, no fever but he kept saying he was not feeling well. I went to pick him up, he looked a bit listless but nothing else. Tuesday and yesterday morning, while waiting for the school bus he claimed he felt like vomitting, today he claimed he had a stomach ache. I acknowledged his discomfort but still sent him on the bus.
His excuses and grumblings about school, I can handle. His sad sobbing at bedtime, I am not handling that well. He even told me the problem is himself, not the school or the teachers or his friends, just himself.
Haiz, I'm :heartbroken: -
Morning everyone…

Morning Everyone!!
Funz.. :hugs: sorry to hear tat.. is ur DS having P1 jitters? Everything make look gd on surface.. studies n all, but haf u spoken to his teacher n c how he progress in sch? and if he has any problem mixing wif his frens.. any problem getting food during recess.. etc..
Hope u'll b able to find a solution to it soon.. -
Thanks Mintymin.
He was excited to start P1. 1st couple of days was ok though he did say it was kinda boring. Thereafter he did say not as boring and we thought he was settling in well. He came home happy yesterday, was chirpy and all though he did not want to talk much about school. We have not been having any problems with him with regards to him doing his homework or learning his spelling and tingxie. And he will automatically get ready and go to bed at 9pm. I was a little shocked to find him sobbing quietly when I went in to say goodnight to him and DD.
I have yet to speak to his teachers as I strongly suspect it is his own ganchiongness making him like that. He has a perfectionist streak in him which makes him a bit high strung. He thinks that there can be no room for mistakes or errors. So that can make life a bit stressful.
Haiz. How I wish the problem is more straight forward like issues with the school or teacher or even friends. When it is due to his character, tougher to address. -

No worries - I guess with the help & love of a dedicated mummy like you, your DS will open up and share more with you
Also, I think it will be good too to speak with the FT and let her knows the situation.
Wishing you and your DS a blessed year ahead! :hugs: -

hope you are feeling better, your DS has his friends around him? From Day 1, I will set aside a time to ask DD1 on her day in school. Frenz, did she mingle , did anyone say anything to her? how she feels...Morning all. Just back from my morning walk.

the only time she was upset when her friend suddenly yelled back at her..
for your DS, does he speak of any one he enjoys with in school or what he does during recess..?
if he is being a perfectionist... is his homework bothering him or he finds it hard to accept that he doesnt get to be the group monitor or being assigned duties..?
DD1 literally goes sullen if she doesnt get assigned a duty by the FT so FT tells her she assigns tasks to DD1 to keep her occupied...
