      Hi,

      Really need some advise here.

My boy is born 2009, and we stay in Punggol.

Very interested to try nan chiau primary (planning to join Hokkien huay kuan), but we stay just 2.1KM from nan chiau, thus need to move. But this doesn’t guarantee a spot, so we are in a fix whether to move or not.

Or try either compassvale or rivervale (may I know which is rank higher in terms of academic)? Distance wise it’s within 2km.

      Please advice!
      Thanks a lot!

Very confused now. I was terribly disappointed to be rejected by Nan Chiau for PV. But I stay within a km... Since we are within 1km, will our chances be higher?

Try hokkien huay kuan if either you or your hubby is hokkien.

I think she is short of time to join huay kuan.

Why don't you try Mee Toh? I heard it's good too. I heard not all SHHK members get recommended for P2B, as they also look at whether they are active members.

Thanks to all for your advice!

We are not Hokkiens so not eligible to join huay Kwan... 😞

I'm still not certain with my alternative plans because only nan chiau & sengkang pri are within 1km. Sengkang pri isn't my choice... The rest seems to be out of my reach... Seems like the only thing I can do now is to start praying & hiong hiong go for 2c at nan chiau...

Hi, can anyone tell me which is a better school, Nan Chiau or Anchor Green? I’m considering both of them for my DS who will be registering for P1 this year since they are both <1km from my house. As a SHHk member, I would probably try for Nan chiau for P2b if I’m given the recommendation letter from SSHk. However, my membership with them is only 1 year and have not done any volunteer work, so I’m prepared for the worst and that is P2C at NCPS. Wondering what are the chances like of getting a place in NCPS for my case? Heard that balloting for P2C is conducted for those within 1km. What I’m worried is that if my ds didn’t get into nan chiau in P2C, then i’ll have to go P2CS at Anchor Green which can be risky too. So do you think I should go for P2C for AGPS once I did not managed to get into P2B in NCPS? What are my chances like for P2C at NCPS?

Btw, read from last year record for NCPS, there were 69 vacancies and there were 181 application. So out of these applications, how many are within 1km?

That's right. Because NCPS accepts only applicants within 1km for P2C.

Oic...thanks for your info. Chances really slim in P2C especially next year they are going to be single session n I'm sure intake will be lesser.

Any balloting for P2C and P2CS in anchor green so far?

I understand that Singaporeans get 2 votes for balloting. So out of these 181 applicants for NCPS last year in P2C, does it include the 2 votes for the same applicant? If so, still can give it a try.
