How about Serangoon Gardens?Hi, I am looking for a music school for my 2+ year old girl. is there any good music school in the Woodlands vicinity or in the north like sembawang, yishun, AMK or even CKK area?
Thanks! -
hi phankao,
For Serangoon Gardens, they have a MYC branch at Hougang. you can visit their site at http://www.mycsingapore.com.sg. If you drive, then MYC Thomson which will open in Mar will be another option. MYC Thomson is located at Midview City (beside Ai Tong Pri Sch). There is lots of parking and free shuttle services between bishan and marymount mrt. -

Oh, thanks, \"annchee\". I'm not looking for a music school nor for those childhood music programmes. I was asking if \"princesskaris\" considers Serangoon Gardens as \"in the north\", bc my 3yo goes to a school there for violin and piano and I find the teaching very suitable for him.hi phankao,

I've decided to make learning to play piano as one of my resolutions this year! Like you sweetpea44, I've always loved to play the piano (yours is violin) but family circumstances didn't allow. Now that I see DD learning piano, the musical passion in me is rekindled. I can play the piano by ear (with no formal training, through trial and error), so decide to learn from a trained teacher to play properly and learn to read music notes.
Your experience has inspired me that it's never too late to learn anything!

Violin music is my favourite! I wish I have the drive to learn like you...I only started learning the violin last year and I'm in the mid thirties. I have always wanted to learn how to play the violin when I was young, but because of the financial difficulties of my family then, I didn't have a chance to. I hope my son will be able to help me fulfill my dreams. And he did.
My son attended the Suzuki Violin class which required one parent's participation as well. I volunteered as my hubby travels quite a bit. After my son's third Suzuki violin lesson, there was no turning back. I found my own teacher and started taking my own lessons, 1 to 1 basis.
Passed ABRSM Grade 1 violin practical last September with Distinction and now my teaching is pushing me to clear my Grade 5 theory this year, together with Grade 3 practical. My teacher is a slavedriver!
I have to thank my son for letting me fulfill my dream. We are both taking 1 to 1 lesson but with different teachers. I have the best of both worlds as my son's teacher is more towards the classical part (I sit in together during his lesson, pay 1 person's fees, 2 person learning!) whereas my teacher is more of the agressive and the not-so-classical type of violinst.
Love the violin like crazy :please: even though at times I'm so frustrated with intonations! :slapshead: -
Hi, my gal is 22mths now. Am looking to put her into some music class but not able to find any around my area. Does anyone has recommendations for class around the east??? Thanks.

Contemplating between violin and piano... Really want my DS to learn violin but he seems a bit more interested in piano.
But he's still in a fickle-minded age; 4yo.
Someone please enlighten me... :?: -
Hmm, let your son try out both for half a year and see which one he likes more?
