All About Full-Time Maids

So sorry to hear your problem. That reminded me, when my 1st indonesia maid went home 6yrs back. My 2nd indo maid told me she has working exp in jkt and speak fair english over the phone when interviewed. When she came, she can’t even understand Malay not mentioned abt english. She can only speak her javanese. Obviously, the person that we interviewed not her real person. We sent her back to agent and get another replacement. The maid claimed that she has working experience in Malaysia for 2 yrs looking after 3 children, cooking & housekeeping. We took her and when she came, we noticed that she don seem to have the experience at all. Then found out, instead of looking after 3 children, she was looking after 3 dogs and cook for dogs. Oh dear, we were so mad and told her we will send her back to agent. B4 the daybreak, she ran away to indo embassy and reported agent beat her and wanted to go back. For nothing, we got to pay for her ticket home, and of course we claimed that amount from agent.

After the bad experience of indo maid, we changed to filipino. This maid decided not to renew contract as she has been 4 yrs here and wanted to go home to reunion with her children, so giving me attitude problem. Luckily, my new maid is coming soon. Hopefully, the new maid turn out good.

Can I check if can we set a time for them to return home during their off day. If yes, do u feel this timing reasonable. 11am to 5pm

My maid is in her fifth year with me. So far only did once xray (& probably also HIV at the same time). I dunno how frequent is this xray test but dun think is every 6 mths or once a year kind.

If you have agreed to give a full-day off I think 11-5 is a bit short. Can't you let her go earlier if you want her to be back for dinner? Or if you aren't giving every Sunday, agree to give her 2 half-days instead of 1 full day. We did that with our maid.

And remember if she doesn't have a key to your place that means you have to be there when she leaves and when she comes back.

It's usually once every 2 years or so.

Usually I let my maid go off for abt 10-12hrs.
