      kitab:

thanks 24-hr mum. will keep inmind your recommendations. ya your assumption abt me is correct. i always hear dryer use alot of electricity,... how about how much? would u be able to quantify? like before starting to use a dryer and now, with dryer,... roughly how much increase in electricity billls?

Just know that after I became maidless, I use dryer for every wash. My utility bill is lesser by about $50 than when I had a maid and don't use dryer.

Wow, fifiyeo,... that is just what I want to hear. haha.

Agree with 24 hr mum that the reason could be due to we not cleaning and washing daily like when we have maid at home. and I must say they ery good at wasting water, and soap,..... cos its not theirs mah. Afterall its not their house and family.... i think very difficult for them to be considerate and spare a thought for us poor employers,.. the more we nag, the happier they are.

will start looking for my dryer.... i just found out some dryer got sensor to detect clothes are dry.... so will be getting one with that feature.... any other useful features i should look out for?

Nobody uses a dishwasher here? i think more unheard of here.... compared to other countries where they have winter and teh water is so cold its difficult to wash dishes.... thinking if i'm being spoiltbrat here for wanting a dishwasher. hehe.

Milcollh, i think soups in slow cookers are good. i boil lots of soup... even vege is cooked in steam rather than stir fry. fish and chicken either stew or baked also can. i think we should share receipes...... 🙂 i'm sure we can all make it to maidless world. jy

24 hr mum… u lucky girl, use dryer since married… i still struggled with washing and hanging and ironing mine plus hubby’s clothes before the kids came… the maid was useful in these simple but tedious chores. now got family of 5… some more 3 young kids who change very often… i’d die just doing laundry everyday. must train the kids to keep their clothes clean… so far they have been very jie pi about their clothing… some food drip on the clothese while having dinner, and they want to change… haha…

Haha,.... oops.... must be very mindful that I'm generalising here...... and be careful of my words.... haha..... sorry... I don't mean that people who use dishwasher is spoiltbrat..... 😛

OK, can share what are the features (if any) that i should look out for in dishwasher? i have not done any research on it yet so far, as i just decided 2 days ago to sack my maid by end of Feb.

and Oh yes, i dislike washing dishes....... i really hope to get one..... esp the cooking utensils. can the desktop one you have do pots and pans too?

                Hi Kitab,

My counter top dishwasher (6 placings) is half the size of the normal floor dishwasher (12 placings). So big cooking utensils not possible to wash together with dishes. Small pots still can do.

Usually I will hand wash the cooking utensils cos need to scrub a bit.

I like my dishwasher cos I dun need to bend down to load the washer. As it is smaller, it uses less water n detergent. Detergent v costly.
