Does Mindstretcher's curriculum really stretch the children's ability? A few shared that for the high ability classes they do not teach concepts at all and that they stretch the child's concept retention with challenging and out of the box type questions. Can someone verify? I went to eXplorer kids indoor playground at AMK Hub last two weeks and chanced upon an MS branch there (same level).. am keen to find out more to see if it can do DD2 some good with some challenge as she is placed in the first class this year. She loves to challenge herself and the grouped peers of High Ability may also help to push her potential? Btw, the AMK Hub branch is spanking new.. i'm keen to try that branch as it is easier to ferry the children from one train station to another especially since i'm always with a buggy and baby. 😉

We're requested to come for a placement test and also to bring down her SA2 result slip from last year. Fees are $120 per month for a weekly weekday session of 2 hours each.

      Feedback appreciated. :please:

I have a pretty bad experience with Mind Stretcher. They are quite arrogant. last year I tried to sign up the Mind Stretcher High Ability Class for English since my daughter was overall top in her class in P2. Unfortunately, after the test they conducted, my daughter was not eligible to take their class. Anyway, we decided to have self study program for my daughter and she got into GEP. I guess we DO NOT need Mindstretcher to insult the ability of our child !

My boys are in mindstretcher and yes, they are very worksheet focus. My older boy is of average result and the question was never asked. The counter staff seems friendly to me. Or maybe coz mine is in the ‘normal’ class as I never ask to join the high ability class.

He started in P5 and I have seen some improvement in his results. To me, coz he is too lazy to do anything out of his school homework, the extra stuff that MS gave him is what suits us.

Recently, JUST also opened near my home and I heard they are quite good. But I decide to continue with MS.

So I can’t really say MS is superb, nor do I think they are bad.

My DD had been attended the Writer Tool Box for a year. After one year ,think off quitting. I think the lesson does not help much and boring. The children are giving some helping words and good phrases to write the compo. And make them to copy the modal compo. All these we can just buy a few good books from Popular and make our kids to memories and practise the same way at home.I think most important is looking at how the teacher marked the works. I only see a few tick on the papers, hardly any correction on grammar or sentence structure. And the marks % given had been the same for quite sometimes. So what is the problems and weakness of the child?? Actualy I would like my DD learn from mistakes, but looks like the teacher just do her routine job, try to finish 12 compo ASAP !

Its really IMPOSSIBLE to have any make up lessons regardless what reason you gives. The answers always THERE IS NO AVAILABLE SLOT even though there is, or THIS IS OUR SCHOOL POLICY. :frustrated:
