Hi Koppie..Hi babyronz,

Congrats to u guys who have succeeded in enrolling your kids in ACS! My daughter is 18 mths and I'm already thinking of P1 registration! Which one is better? MGS or SCGS? I'm living >2km away from this two schools and even thinking of renting a place <km to either one of these schools. Just the other day, a friend whose daughter will be in P1 (2010) called MGS to ask about PV. And guess what, they said they do not need any PVs..wonder if this is true. Chief, am already so stress about this! I have like hmmm..5 more years to P1 registration, do you have any other tips just so that I can get my daughter in one of those branded schools..... =(
I guess so..I heard of many who opted for this option..and u must stay in the rented place for at least 6 mths and above... -

Thanks for the article Chief..kinda scary..wouldn't wanna risk my job! Makes me think twice about renting a place! Even a lawyer could get arrested! Will think of other option which is legal..hehehe..

babyronz, I think both MGS and SCSG are quite risky even if you rent a place <1km, esp MGS. Under phase 2C, both schools usually conduct balloting for 1-2km and MGS even did it for <1km in year 2007.
A safer bet would be RGPS i think. Reasons:
1. More classes (300 places compared to 200~210 places)
2. No affliliation to sec sch (hence less popular)
3. No church/clan connections
Actually since your daughter is so young, have u considered that all your plans would have gone awry if you suddenly have a son?

I heard that NYPS does not have affiliations with Nanyang Girls (for secondary school enrolment) even though they are belong to the same alumni…is this true?
-
Hi Voo Voo,
NYPS is affliated to NY Girls. U can visit their website which confirm this. -

That's what I thought too. Thanks, Atan. BTW, read that you offered to be PV... were you called up for an interview or they rejected without a meeting?Hi Voo Voo,

They rejected without an interview  I learnt later on that everyone there are more than 200 applicants n NYPS only take in 40. I think the reason for my failure then was that I did not research on what NYPS really need in a PV. Luckily, my son still got in in the end w/o us serving 80 hrs time.

80hrs  not 40hrs :?: -
YES, 80 hrs. NYPS website has details on PV requirement.
