Since you have a boy and girl, I think going to co-ed would be better, at least your DD will be able to go to the same primary school with her elder brother under Phase 1

Actually I'm in a dilemma. I have 1 gal then boy. Not sure whether to send gal to my school (gal school with affiliated sec sch), then source for another sch for my boy later. Or take the risk for my gal and source co-Ed sch around my place. But I'm not within 2km of the better schools in my area so really there's an opportunity cost for my gal. Sigh...

Ya.. people were saying settle one first, the younger one talk later. Some more with affiliation, it really helps such that I won't be so stress during PSLE time too..

But there are alot of new condo / ECs being built in the area now. I guess it's just going to be more competitive nearing my boy's pri 1 registration next time. Stressed..

However, after much debate with my husband, we are likely to do PV in Fairfield Methodist Primary School instead, cos' my husband is more keen on my DD pursuing her education there. If we are unable to get in by Phase 2B 😢 , then we will try for Zhangde or Queenstown Primary School at Phase 2C instead

Seems like we are on the same route. But the dawson estate is not within the 2km radius. So i'm kinda worry.

Seems like u r too late to join as EM to be in P2B.
Since u r in this thread, i bet ur child is born in 2007 so it will be tooo late.

                  Hihi

Tampines mummy reporting.....DS1 is little piglet.

Am an Executive member with the RC, therefore comfirm able to get that important letter to qualify for phase 2B. Eyeing for Poi Ching.

DS1 also going for P1 Registration. I am aiming for St hildas, but just hand in the RC application form last sat :(, hopefully still in time.

I am a christian, but not an anglican. sigh....My son in an anglican childcare, am staying just opposite the sch, but no use. šŸ˜ž so sad. still under ph2c, very risk, so must join RC route....

Can share how long you have been in RC? How long you promote to EM? šŸ˜‚

                    Hope it helps.

Hi, I want to ask your advice.

My child will be going to P1 in 2014. Currently his kindy just offers Chinese as a 2nd language which he is taking.
Unfortunately being Sindhi (Indian, but not Tamil speaking), I do not know much about Chinese; just little dily conversations with my Chinese friends.
On the other hand, I am okay in Malay (having taken Malay in PSLE and O Level).
Thus, I have 2 challenges awaiting me:-

                      1) Do I want him to take Chinese in Primary School (where my help is limited) or Malay (that I can help him after work as I am a FTWM).
                      2) If I do want him to take Malay in Primary School, I would need to start now with him. Would anyone have the preschool Malay syallabus that one needs to know before going to P1?

                      Thanks:)

I am wondering whether does anyone perform PV way before the child is due for registration (i.e. > 1.5 years before registration) and whether there are schools who do allow parents to do so.
