      Hihi

Tampines mummy reporting.....DS1 is little piglet.

Am an Executive member with the RC, therefore comfirm able to get that important letter to qualify for phase 2B. Eyeing for Poi Ching.

DS1 also going for P1 Registration. I am aiming for St hildas, but just hand in the RC application form last sat :(, hopefully still in time.

I am a christian, but not an anglican. sigh....My son in an anglican childcare, am staying just opposite the sch, but no use. 😞 so sad. still under ph2c, very risk, so must join RC route....

Can share how long you have been in RC? How long you promote to EM? 😂

        Hope it helps.

Hi, I want to ask your advice.

My child will be going to P1 in 2014. Currently his kindy just offers Chinese as a 2nd language which he is taking.
Unfortunately being Sindhi (Indian, but not Tamil speaking), I do not know much about Chinese; just little dily conversations with my Chinese friends.
On the other hand, I am okay in Malay (having taken Malay in PSLE and O Level).
Thus, I have 2 challenges awaiting me:-

          1) Do I want him to take Chinese in Primary School (where my help is limited) or Malay (that I can help him after work as I am a FTWM).
          2) If I do want him to take Malay in Primary School, I would need to start now with him. Would anyone have the preschool Malay syallabus that one needs to know before going to P1?

          Thanks:)

I am wondering whether does anyone perform PV way before the child is due for registration (i.e. > 1.5 years before registration) and whether there are schools who do allow parents to do so.

However, after much debate with my husband, we are likely to do PV in Fairfield Methodist Primary School instead, cos' my husband is more keen on my DD pursuing her education there. If we are unable to get in by Phase 2B 😢 , then we will try for Zhangde or Queenstown Primary School at Phase 2C instead

Seems like we are on the same route. But the dawson estate is not within the 2km radius. So i'm kinda worry.

If memory serves me right, the balloting for ZhangDe at 2C for 1-2km is a very tough fight. Think last 2 years only got 1 or 2 seats up for grabs... The rest were confirmed in at <1km.

You might want to monitor the situation this year to see if balloting has went to <1km distance range instead as there are alot of new HDB houses here now!! Then from there, you might want to re-plan what other 2C choices you might want to consider. 😄

NCPS reopen PV till march ? as some parents of DD school told me close already in December.. result of PV will be out in September as informed to me by NCPS itself

I have checked with the school personally so info is accurate unless they give me false info? hehe

I join the RC in 2010, it took me 6 mths to promote to EM. And yes, u need to be EM for at least 1 year to qualify for the letter.

Yes, some school intake PV very early. My wife already finish the PV hours required by the school which is 60hrs and my son is currently in K1 this year. I ask her why school always call you to help them out and how about other parents? She said the school also call up other parents which has been selected but most of them are not free to turn up and some even fly aeroplane to the teacher in-charge, maybe they think still long way to go so can slowly do. The best time is to clock hours are during school holiday. In less then 3months, 60hrs hours clock (sound like part-time job) :celebrate:

                        sounds good! 😂

if can make use of school holidays to clock hours, get the job done, is great! 🕺 :imcool:

most schools clock 40 hrs on average. The more demanding schools require 60 hrs, some even 80 hrs. :nailbite:
