      Hi

      Pls help

Ali spent $20 on a plate, a bowl and 2 cups. Each plate costs $3 more than a cup but $ 2 less than a bowl. Find the cost of 14 cups.

      Tia

          Hi

For P4, a neat way is to use MD.

          Cup ----- I unit or 1 box
          Plate ----- 1 unit + 3
          Bowl ----- 1 unit + 3 + 2

          2 units + (1 unit +3) + (1 unit + 5) ------ 20

          4 units ------ 12
          1 unit ------ 3

          Cost of 14 cups ------ 14*3 ------ 42

          Best wishes

            Hi

In 4 years time, Bob will be twice as old as Ali.

            2 units ------ 14
            1 unit ----- 7

In 4 years time, Ali will be 7 year old.

Hence now he is 3 year old (7-4).

            Best wishes

                      Need help on this:

John had 4 times as many marbles as Brandon. After John gave 28 marbles away, Brandon had twice as many marbles as John. How many more marbles did John have than Brandon.

                        At first
                        John [][][][]
                        Brad []
                        After John gave 28 away
                        John [][][][]
From the 1/2 of first box u have to highlight that equal to 28
                        Brad []

                        3u+1/2u=28 ... u=8
I am not sure how to teach P4 this solving with fraction
                        3u=24
24 more marbles John had than Bradon at first.
                        Do u need model?
