I hope MOE will let all P6 pupils re-take the Maths paper. Think there’s a broadcast tonight at channel 8, 1030pm about this PSLE Maths thing…do keep a look-out.

I hope that never happens. The kids have moved on already. They're enjoying themselves, having fun, as they should. The parents should move on too.

Can you imagine if they allowed the Math paper to be retaken? Some parents would insist that the Chinese Oral be retaken too, because the second day's was more difficult. Chinese Paper 2 has to be retaken too because some kids/schools had already seen the compre passage. Whlie we're at it, let's retake the Science paper because some kids didn't read the questions carefully.

          Come on, let's move on.

I agree with turquiose. Let’s move on. What if they perform badly at the retest? Retake again? the kids are not in the mood to take any more exams.Be optimistic, maybe they did not do as badly as you think…

Retake the Math paper ? What a horrifying thought !!! :!:
I totally concur with turquoise and lovingmum that we should just move on. In fact, I'm sure many already have. :celebrate:

In life, there is NO perfect exam. There will always be detractors and children should be taught to take these little imperfections in their stride and to make the best out of every situation. Just my 2 cents worth. 😄

                  emerald:

Seems like my dd's school is the only \"special\" school that need to do the test. The class even did a chinese paper days after PSLE. Funny thing was no complaints from the students and no reasons given by the teachers! :x

My son's class (not sure whether the whole P6 cohort in his school or not) sat for a MOE test in English (I think) one or two days after the PSLE. I asked him what kind of test it was and he was not sure. There was no word from the teacher about it. I am just as puzzled as you guys are. 😐

                  Kuzco and Emerald

Have you found out what the re-test that your kids did (after PSLE) is about? Are your kids from GEP class? Strange hor..

hi kuzco, yr son already taken the english test, what is the test abt? are all the components in the main paper being tested or just part of it?

my dot told me this evening that they were told today regarding abt the online english test too. the whole calss was puzzled by the piece of news, saying \"What for ??? psle was over\".
her teacher herself was unsure of the reason for the online test, but she guessed that probably SEAB wants to compare the std of english with the actual psle exam....anyway, she just make a guess......why are the teachers not given the reason too???

me also wonder what is the purpose of this test, isit something to do with the std deviation (cannot be...) or just simply for comparison purpose. WEIRD :?

chinese online test too ??? any1 got any input??

I think it's the proficiency test that MOE is conducting. It's happening in sec schools also. MOE staff coming in to conduct the test just after exams.

                        Hi westmom and Augmum.

My son is not from GEP. I really do not know what the test is about, although he did mentioned about MOE people coming down to his school. He is unable to tell me anything more. Since PSLE was over then, he was quite annoyed when I kept asking him about the test. He was not in a mood to talk about school work any more. In any case, we have thrown this matter to the back of our minds already. Hopefully somebody or anybody can enlighten us here.
