Thanks Lavender Tea for the info... this is useful indeed... initially I thought they will be confined and was thinking recently if i make the right decision to enrol them to MS..

Thanks LavenderTea.. I got worried too.... esp the lower primary.. recess is a time to relax and have a little fun with their friends...

Hi, do we have to get the books in the school via Pacific Book store? Can we get it else where like Popular?

I know MS is a stricter school so if the kids do not have any play time, would be quite sad for them… am relieved now to know it’s not…
I also understand lessons as ususal during Teachers/Children’s Day. They only had a couple of hours for celebration. My daughters school does the opposite… they have full day celebration yearly… -

$180 is probably including the optional items, right? I usually buy the text and exercise books only.Hi,
Just saw the book list for P1, that's very expensive, about $180. Do they use all these books, or any books that students will not use? -

Some items are not available in Popular, but most are. -

Hi VVJJ, guess one of the reasons why MSHS did not practice full day celebration is to ensure syllabus to be examinable are covered timely within the much shorter school calendar.I know MS is a stricter school so if the kids do not have any play time, would be quite sad for them... am relieved now to know it's not...

MSHS does have ad-hoc events that are held during the yr for the boys such as the SHOE week whereby different sports are introduced each day for a week and boys are encouraged to participate.
MSHS efforts towards community involvements are pretty active. They have a jog-for-a-cause round the sch compound & a skip-for-a-cause challenge this year for the boys.
I believe your boy will enjoy himself at MSHS. -
Hi parent, can check have your child know which class is he in?
Who is joining the PSG and which area are you contributing? -
hi
my boy is currently in p1 in a neighbourhood sch. we try to register in MS during p1 reg. but didnt got the chance for balloting as we are >2km therefore we put him on waiting list since Jun. recently we hv rcvd ltr fm MS to sit for entrance test to p2. we a bit worried abt MS standard too high for him therefore he wont be able to pass the entrance test. is there any exam for p1 tis yr, is it difficult? as MS past yr exam papers cant be found in mkt, we cant judge where he stand. we let him try few "gd" sch exam papers, he managed to score >70 (maybe is not gd enuf). any parents hv boy tranfer to MS, can u share ur experience? -

They will be putting up the class lists on the notice boards outside the general office.Hi parent, can check have your child know which class is he in?

I'm currently helping out with the library once a week. I used to help out with recess duties for P1 & P2 boys. I will be doing it next yr for my P1 boy as well. From P3 onwards, no recess mums are required in class.
They have other areas which require help as well, I think the rainbow program which helps those who are poor in reading is a very much rewarding job.
