      Hi Janet,

      For sharing...
P2 - learn on his own and test him in the next 10 mins or so. Most of the time, he will either get them right or with minimum mistakes. No sweat

P5 - do 抄写 a few times before he can remember. He can still get mistakes. :frustrated:
repeat until he gets 80% right and I will leave him alone to deal with the actual 听写。

I guess there is no one method that works but we will have to improvise based on the kid's flair with the language.

        Hi Mummies,

Can I check with you what kind of 听写 your kids have ? How do you coach your kids in their spelling ?
for my now P4, in P1 and P2, i left it to him to practice writing/scribbling on rough paper. then i'll test him. then i'll do a retest on everything (since he'll usually get wrong somewhere; or even if he gets all correct first round, second round, he'll somehow forget how to write some words :slapshead: ). from p3 onwards, he do the prac and test and retest by himself. he managed to maintain above 80%, so i close 1 eye. i only help test him on the sentence (not moxie).
but i will drill him again on the list of words during exam prep...that is what matters. 😓

          Thanks for sharing ladies.
I have left my son to learn by himself...hubby will test him when he is done...for both Eng & CL spelling and dictation.
My daughter will 抄写 3x and then I will test her. If she can get 80% for both Eng/CL, I close my eyes.

            Hi Janet,
For my P4 DD1, I have left her to learn the 听写 on her own and will only test her the nite before 😄 ..Problem is with P1 DD2 :skeptical: She is very weak with 汉语拼音 and the 1st term 6 sets of spelling list weekly is all about 汉语拼音  :lightrod:

There are 10 words every Tues to be tested and the weekends are always burnt to teach her the 汉语拼音听写 :gloomy: Also, using the following as a guide to revise with her:-

Yes, the discount is attractive. Based on daughter's present school syllabus, the sections are relevant to what is taught & I can use it to revise with her for summative tests or weekly revision. Just hope the syllabus still stays bcos I bought the P3 one already...what to do ? kiasu mah.

Good Morning to all mummies :grphug:

Am taking a break now after doing the CL CA1 revision with DD1 in the early morning :imcool: She is off for her tuition class for the next 2 hours so mummy now has some time to log into KSP forum 😉 😉

                    http://i39.tinypic.com/2z4hkiv.jpg\">
Was running thru the stack of assessment book and realised that the above book was untouched! 😂 Must have \"overlook\" it since CL is the least time allocated for revision

The section starts with the bi(4)du(2)ci(2)yu(3) for every 2 chapters before the nian(4) xi(2) paper. The nian(4) xi(2) paper is set out in such a way that the format is very similar to DD1's exam format, thus I will get her to practise this afternoon 😄

:imsorry: that I am unable to type out the Chinese Character words as am using DD1's P.C. which does not have the Chinese Language program 😂

                      Hi champion,

You must have been so busy with CA preparation...didn't see any posts from you and plum cake for a while. I used 2-3 diff CL assessment books to prepare my daughter for her test which was yest...not a lot bcos I focused just on those sections which will be tested. I know the duan3 wen2 tian2 kong1 and comprehension will be her obstacles. Just glad it is over :rahrah:
