        Hi tianzhu

        Thank you so much for the solutions and teaching how to use units and parts.:)
        Hi

        You're welcome.

        Your username reminds me that my jewelbox is very empty, so sad.

        While MD may be used to solve your question, I think UP is more efficient.

        Have a good weekend.

        Best wishes

          Hi Tianzhu,

          Thank you for helping many of us here in solving questions. I would like to seek your advice on any good approach to tackling Maths as a subject. My DS has super good memory when it comes to geography, history, current affairs, events etc. But when it comes to remembering Mathematics concept, strategy and rules, he is like a goldfish with 3 seconds memory! He forgets them so easily! This make learning progress very slow as we have to back track almost every topic that he has been taught.

            Hi,

            Pse assist on the following q:

            q1 : The ratio of the num of xavier’s stickers to the num of Yvonne’s stickers to the num of Zack’s stickers was 4:6:7 at first. When Xavier bought another 35 stickers & Yvonne lost 27 stickers, Xavier & Yvonne had the same num of stickers. How many more stickers would Zack have to buy in order to have twice as many stickers as Yvonne?

            q2: On Mr Chan’s farm, 70% of his fowls were chickens & the rest were ducks. When he bought another 108 more ducks, the num of ducks on his farm increased by 40%. Afer selling some chickens, he had an equal num of chickens & ducks left. How many chickens did Mr Chan sell?

            q3: At first, Chenxu had 2/3 as many stickers as Weiwei. After Chenxu bought another 3 stickers and Weiwei lost 9 stickers, Chenxu had 5/6 as many stickers as Weiwei. Find the num of stickers Chenxu had at first?

            TIA

              Hi
              Q1.
              X : Y : Z --> 4u : 6u : 7u

              4u + 35 = 6u - 27
              2u --> 62
              1u --> 31

              Z --> 7 x 31 = 217
              Y --> 6u - 27 = 159
              Number of Z needs to buy = 159 x 2 - 217 = 101

              Q2.
              Chickens : Ducks --> 70u : 30u
              Ducks increased by 40% --> 40% x 30u = 12u
              12u --> 108, 1u --> 9
              Ducks --> 42 x 9 = 378
              Number of chickens sold = 70 x 9 - 378 = 252

              Q3.
              C : W --> 2u : 3u
              2u+3 : 3u-9 = 5 : 6
              cross multiply or equalize :
              12u + 18 = 15u - 45
              3u = 63, 1u = 21
              At first C had 21 x 2 = 42 stickers

              cheers.

                    Hi,

                    Can anyone please help in the following question:

                    In a school hall, chairs were arranged in rows such that there were exactly 9 chairs in each row.

                    For a concert, Mr Ong brought 6 more chairs into the school hall and rearranged all the chairs. There are now exactly 7 chairs in each row and 2 more rows than before. How many chairs are there in the school hall for the concert ?

                    Thank you in advance !

                      Hi

                      2 new rows of 7 chairs --> 14 chairs
                      number of chairs removed from original number of rows = 14 - 6 = 8
                      2 chairs removed from each row, so number of rows at first = 8 / 2 = 4
                      total number of chairs = 4 x 9 + 6 = 6 x 7 = 42

                      cheers.
