An activist might be an appropriate term for him.
He has gone to jail a few times for his beliefs/actions.
Estab will likely ignore him.
Can't scare a man when he is fearless n prepared to go in.
He has cojones.
But his constant ranting is making him come across as a bit of a nut case if I may say so. -
Mdm Koh:
Mdm Koh, u sound like a very-angry-anti-pap individual. However, I'm surprised that u are calling a coming clean in rgds to ONLY ppl connected to PAP...!? Anyways, u can start a new topic on that. But, pls stay relevant in this topic abt YSL... Now that your hero, YSL has gone AWOL, I guess he doesn't really need to come clean on any, & all other misdeeds at all tt he may or may not have comitted. Wow, I guess it must be so easy to get away with misdeeds if one is an opposition leader. I hereby categorically condemn your nonchalant attitude regarding misdeeds done by your Hero, YSL. It's this nonchalant attitude that caused the collapsed of Lehman Bros. Pls remember: Prevention is better than cure!!!
I don't care about the damage to his reputation. To put it bluntly, he deserves his bad reputation if he is really a philanderer with many women.Vote PAP:
In this particular case, allegations are flying everywhere. Better that he should have come clean early to quell speculation. The not coming clean damaged his image beyond rescue. Also, there is really no question about his privacy or that of the said women to address. What was needed from him was a simple denial or admission as fact of what he was accused of. A 'no' or 'yes' would have sufficed, no need to invade privacy. This would have stopped all further talks & speculations on the subject matter. See how by not coming clean, this has ended...? Think about that...
Nevertheless, that's not justification for anyone to infringe on his privacy. Stalking him and his innocent family members is an invasion of privacy. Following them in cars as they leave their homes is an infringement of privacy.
A simple \"yes\" or \"no\" will not suffice for the journalists. If Yaw Shin Leong reveals more information, the journalists will step up their efforts to find out more. Thus, I don't think you should be dismissive of the privacy concern.
Yes, he did wrong. Yes, the alleged women did wrong. Yes, they do not have the same political beliefs as you. But they have the same rights.
I am intrigued by the continued calls for YSL to come clean. I can think of a few people who need to come clean more than him, as they have committed criminal offenses that directly affect the nation.
I am very interested to know how many times the CPIB officials got away with misusing their authority to get sex and money.
I also think the authorities should come clean on who the other top earners involved in the vice probe are.
In addition, someone needs to come clean on why Desmond Choo's rumoured uncle, former PAP MP Choo Wee Khiang, was only charged for offenses he committed in 2005 in December 2011. Why does the CPIB need six years to investigate a simple corruption case?
Can somebody please come clean with the details on all the corruption scandals? Will we have to wait another six years for the CPIB officials' cases to be heard in court? :lightrod: -
Dear Vote PAP, as you can see from the first sentence in my previous reply to you, YSL is not my "hero". I’m just not interested in knowing the sordid details of his affairs. Second, I’m not "anti-PAP". The civil servants who got into trouble do not represent the PAP. Third, I’m not angry; just amused by the continual spotlight on YSL. Finally, there’s no reason why I can’t ask for the relevant authorities to come clean on the criminal offenses that have been committed by top civil servants. As an interested citizen, I would like to know what other safeguards are in place to prevent corruption in Singapore, besides high salaries. Isn’t this also part of the transparency and accountability that Singaporeans are calling for?

Don't flame me. I want to ask a question. Could YSL solve the problem by divorcing his wife and marry Angela (since news mentioned that he impregnated her)? This is better than running away and leaving Angela & her husband picking up the pieces.
But, in the process, destroys 2 families, YSL's & Angela's...? Let alone that u r asking an MP to break the law...? It's polygamous..as Angela is still married to her husband...nuff said... -
So with YSL so-called out of the pic and his wife having to clear the mess...wonder how noble a woman can be...to clear hubby's mess and yet have to stand by him.
I really hope we can have MPs who are not cowards by running away and to look after their wards well. Oh yes, if it is a flood...accept the situation and don't change it to become something else  -
HVR:
Bravo...! Well written, HVR...I too am a parent & am very worried about our all too fragile well being, & that of our children's. We could potentially lose allGiven the preconceived mind of some forumers here, I am beginning to feel there is little or no point to express and exchange views here.
Without doubt, there are forumers who are objective and their views are based on facts and logic. It was a joy to read such posts and I appreciate their views.
I would thought majority of forumers here are parents, which imply maturity and imbued with sense of responsibility. I hope to see postings and views reflect such maturity and responsibility and we all can exchange views with objectivity in mind. Disappointingly, my experience thus far show that this is not the case.
Vaguely remember a forumer posted that the 'active' members are those pro oppositions as the 'quiet' one are contended and wouldn't post their views. If that is the case it is not surprising I find lack of objectivity in the discussion.
Having said the above, this is an excellent site! I have gained a lot from the postings by fellow parents in other threads. Perhaps I will just stick to other threads. I will resist very hard to post on this thread.
That we hv worked so hard to build up. With the way things are moving, I wouldn't be surprised that within a decade, we may hv a new party running parliament. I hv no issue if the party is made up of upstanding & righteous individuals with our best interest at heart & not simpletons who wld ruin our future with a trigger happy finger, who wld not bat an eyelid whilst emptying our National Reserve, by releasing a first tranch of $60billion, to the elated cheers of ignorant populace. Marcos, to site an example, was once a national hero for the 1st 2 years of his presidency, bringing prosperity to his ppl. We are now reaping some benefits from his acts; our hiring of Philipino maids don't cost us an arm or leg, but, poor daughters & sons of The Philipines... Need we really say more? But, alas, the wealth of the fathers will not last for 3 generations, so the saying goes...we shd forbid this... -
