worse if SG were to retain him - during his teaching, he may influence or stain our young minds to turn bad. Throw this rubbish trash bag back to his own original country! Revoke his whatever bursary, scholarship immediately!

you feed a dog, groom the dog, look after dog properly - the dog waits patiently at the door everyday for his master to return home. Dog leaps with joy, come running forward greet his master happily, wags his tail non stop the moment he sees his master return home, standing at entrance of the door. Dog is faithful, loyal and grateful to master. A dog understands and know what is the meaning of faithfulness, loyalty, dignity, gratitude.

Am I outraged as a Singaporean?

Of course.

But take 2 steps back.

If I were an agency within Singapore, whose aim is to manipulate general sentiment, and if today, I was wishing to fan anti-foreigner feelings, then this blog by the PRC fella is a godsend. I will be rubbing my hands in glee and suddenly, the masses are baying for blood, not only of ALL foreigners, BUT, the also the entity that I really want to MOST embarass, the g'ment.

I am aware that there are many such freeloaders, and of FTs/FWs that are intolerable, and also of many Singaporeans who behave the same way overseas. But there are also very many who are positive contributors.

Beware knee-jerk, that is all I am saying.

What to do?


The people doing the interview has a low standard and are not sharped eyed.

It is a common phenomenon throughout Singapore. The people doing the hiring and interviewing thought that they have stumbled into a "foreign talent" but in reality, that "foreign talent" is just better in selling themselves than many locals.

1. Our tertiary institutions are willing to pay three times the pay for academics just because they are foreign. These talents simply showed the hiring team the many papers they have published. the problem with our interviewing and hiring team is that they are not up to standard to judge if these publications really have deep long term impact to justify that kind of pay package. they just rush into the decision only to let others slowly discover that the hired "super star" isn’t really worth that much.

I feel it is ok to make mistakes in recruiting the wrong people because no one has God’s eyes to see through everyone. However, when such things happen, investigate quickly and take the right disciplinary action if he is not worthy of the scholarship.

Felt he is backing down now bcos he could be worried this incident might affect his completion of his uni study (only few mths left), or he could be worried that it will leave behind a record & thus affect his testimonies.

That frustration he had seemed to have built up over time & not just any random rant.

I read his reponses to his friends comments included scolding of Alex (believed is the one who reported that black lip PRC student fr a pte tertiary here who made insulting comments about our malay community on youtube) 挫逼 which I understand is an equivalent of the anatomy vulgar word, also his saying of waiting for Alex with a knife if he dares to look him up.

I can't imagine how he will be as a person living here while serving his
contract & how much more 'frustration' & 'rant' he will have after he graduated. Anyway, for someone who has such hatred for S'pore, I'm doubtful if he will ever serve out his bond. He is already lucky to be able to proceed on to NUS without having to spent 2 yrs in the NS. If he is now even trying to find ways or loopholes to escape his bond, then we should really :mad: :stupid:

According to news reports, he is doing an internship at Schlumberger, a large global firm. Operations in Singapore are mostly oil and gas? Then he cannot be a teaching scholar. Teaching scholars and oil & gas internships just don't correlate for me.
